This cross plane V-8 is basically two sport bike engines mated together. Short stroke, high revving, means more power, which means more rear wheel torque, which is why it accelerates faster than the previous engine, which made less power, but more torque, but less rear wheel torque.

I was lucky enough to spend the day with a clients Z06, and it is a phenomenal car. The only downside is, it’s ridiculously juvenile start up sound. There doesn’t seem to be any way to tone it down (maybe it’s buried in some menu that I couldn’t find). I was shooting photos of the car near a dog park. I kept having to move it for new shots and every time I start it people would jump and glare at me. After a while, they thought I was just doing it on purpose.

Try looking for mufflers, that should lower the sound from the exhaust

You show me one for 170 and I’ll buy it. Cheapest I’ve seen any of them around my area or even further is well over 200. Guy down the street was offered one for 230. Not sure if he went through with it or not but still blew my mind at the markup on them.
