+PuppyJJoong He had to die because only one Chosen could carry the seed to the Bloodfire - by killing all but Amberle, Brooks was able to make her one of the main heroes of Elfstones. I really liked Lauren's character and the actor who played him was hot as hell and one of the better younger actors on the show.

+ithildins but wasn't the point of Amberle being the female Chosen (POSSIBLE BOOK SPOILERS AHEAD) - in the long run - that she was a girl and the tree needed a girl to be reborn as the new tree or something? I haven't read the book and only going by what I read on wikia and imdb. But they did change a lot, so with the tree only talking to Amberle was it really that neccessary to kill Lorin off (I'm so confused by the spelling tbh, again, I understand Lauren is the book spelling, but it seems to be spelled Lorin in the show)? Basically Amberle was special enough as she is in the show verse, so...

ForsakenWitchery in the books, Lauren was actually the first one the Ellcrys spoke to - Amberle also ran away in the books, so when the Reaper killed the Chosen, she wasn't with them and could actually undergo the quest

But still it is a shame and not only bcause of his looks . it would have been interesting having him as her Boyfriend and then Wil the one she is falling in love with ( at the moment in he show ) . PuppyJJoong They could have stayed closer to the books several other ways, let me tell you - the writers are doing their own thing, and even with Terry Brooks being involved, I guess they're tweaking several points or have leave to - either, to make it more adaptable as a series arc, or keep fans of the book guessing as to what happens in the next episodes.

I loved his character too - such a shame Lauren had to die - hopefully if we get any more visions, he could show up for a bit, or flashbacks. But if they go the route of the books, Eretria and Wil actually didn't get together until after the Wil/Amberle feelings saga came to conclusion - she was simply a major part of the quest in Elfstones. But since they've already had sex, and Amberle is now thinking of nothing but the quest and the whole ' don't let feelings cloud my judgement ' thing, and because Eretria is going to join them on the quest - I don't think it'll develop into a triangle as much - but of all the chemistry - the two female leads do have the most; I agree with you on that. I already ship like every possible combination - and can we talk about the preciousness that is Bandon?? Also, the SC is filmed in New Zealand as well, which is why it visually tickles all of us LotR fans XD

+ithildins while I think I may end up shipping all the possible combinations I don't want the TSC fandom to become like the Teen Wolf fandom, and it's pretty much inevitable since anyone can be shipped with anyone. That and I'm probably going to be bitter that Amberle legit checked out Wil days after finding out her boyfriend was murdered for the rest of the season, so there's that in the way of my shipping her with anyone, especially Wil, even though they're cute. AND YES, LET'S TALK ABOUT BANDON. He's the second most precious after Lorin for me. Screw the triangle, BANDON! xD

ForsakenWitchery Yeah - I'm not sure how I feel about the writers and the "ship aspect" of the show - Amberle/Lauren was treated as pretty much a throwaway ship, Wil/Eretria was set up already since they're endgame in the books, but they have Wil/Amberle going through awkward ship stuff as well - in the books, W/A do have feelings (similar to Richard/Kahlan) for each other, but as far as it taking days, when Amberle became the new Ellcrys, Wil was broken up but a few days later got with Eretria - like I guess, they move on quickly - no time like the present. We'll ship Bandon and Lauren and just snuggle up to our fluff of precious bbs - yeah, I'm sticking with the book spelling on his name - it's easier for me. As far as the show, I'm just going to ignore some of the bad writing, ignore all ship wars, and enjoy the visual high fantasy.

I thought they had better chemistry than Aberle and Wil. I would trade Lorin for Wil ANYDAY! Talk about MORE tragic than Romeo and Juliet! Not only does Lorin love her and it is not 100% returned, he is killed by a changeling pretending to be his girlfriend, probably not their first kiss, but still. NO help for it now i am obsessed with Mattias Inwood. Would love to see him star in his own series.
