Can you help me please? I’m having trouble installing my elm327 cable to my laptop. I think I’ve installed all the drivers necessary but I think there is a driver called “prolific...” that I’m not seeing under my ports/com ports. I only see “ch340 (com3)”. I’m using Forscan like you and I keep getting the message “unable to connect to vehicle, make sure ignition is ON and try again” I think my problem is I don’t have the prolific device or driver listed under the ports in device manager. PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Chad, I am having a great problem with Forscan software that does not want to connect to Ford Mondeo mk3. I can connect to it with Formidable software, but Forscan NO. I will give you a answer tomorrow. Really i don't where to put my HEAD NOW with it.

Hi, I have a question. I had the cheap version adapter you have in the desk as well. My laptop had Windows XP Home installed and it worked great, no errors. Then I did install W. XP Pro, with the same adapter and I got a message in Forscan: "the adapter is Not recommended for this car". Same drivers same everything. Might just the Os give back this error? Thanx in advance! Used same interface for my f150. Worked fine fist time using to change start stop feature. Plugged in later that days went thru motions and got connected no problem.. however when trying to connect to the body control module and when prompted to switch HS to MS i get a error and can bus compatibility fault and Cant connect. So what is causing my issue? Im doing everything same as before and it worked fine.
