What’s funny is when I hook up to the laptop on friends or side hustle cars with a Cord they are very impressed. When I use Bluetooth they are less impressed, and it seems like it’s a lower value service haha. It’s like they realize they could’ve googled it and figured it out themselves 😂

Got theOBD LinkEx based on your recommendation and it worked great on Forscan! Did a reset on transmission for my F-150 that was clunking a bit from standstill to gas applied. Truck drives smooth now and mileage is showing improved as well. Just wanted to say thanks for the ODB overview sir.

Thank you for your videos, I was able to download and resister for free trail of For scan. I did it as i followed your videos and it took maybe 30 minutes to get my code. my adapter will be here tomorrow so im glad i went ahead and got all of that ready. I should had watched this video before i ordered one but the one i ordered from amazon i hope will work fine, it does the automatic switching.

Your videos are great and very informative. I have a 2003 Lincoln Navigator and a 2011 Ford Taurus SEL. My interest is mostly for diagnostics, such as misfires, etc.. Based on the driver installed, the "counterfeit warning" is for the FTDI (this is the manufacturer) chip that converts the USB to serial for the ODB chip. There was a big kerfluffle a few years ago when FTDI changed their driver to look for counterfeit chips and ended up getting a lot of false positives on genuine FTDI chips. This earned them a big black eye in the Arduino community. Nothing to do with the ODB chip that actually talks to the car.

The ELM 327 did not work on my 2019 f150 XLT. I got a message saying it was the wrong adapter for my vehicle and all functions may not work. It worked until I got to the module I needed to open to enable my trailer brake controller. It wouldn’t open the module. 😮

Hello. Why do you not mention (vLinker FS USB)? Should be recommended by Forescan I have read. I use 2021 drivers and 2022 firmware for vLinker FS. unfortunately you have to go into device manager in windows to update drivers manually.
