Just changed a Cross Traffic Module in a '17 Explorer. Hooked up ForScan, got the As-Built data from Ford via internet connection thru cell phone, wrote the data and the light went right out. Awesome & thank you the video. Helped me understand what I needed to do and I did it. 1st time, no issues at all.

Very nice. I have been getting really frustrated with the rest of the Tube videos on FORscan. Some seriously challenged communicators, with few exceptions. What little I got out of most of them was clarified and organized with your refreshingly illuminating presentation. Maybe you can do a primer on getting started on FORscan, if it isn't too droll for your level of aptitude.

Thanks for sharing. Were you able to identify the memory code for the RKE/RTM frequency? Trying to figure out how to change it from EU/GCC 415MHz to 315MHz US to avoid having to buy a fourth (433) key to get my remote start working. Bought a kit with two four button 315 keys but the buttons don’t work. 🤪

Hi i do have a question, so i have an issue with my TCU on my 2019 ford ecosport, for some reason the ford pass wifi has been disabled and says its not installed anymore. Anyway i purchased forscan, went to check the as built data using forscan and it was completely different to what is currently in the TCU. I cant work out why this would be different? So i haven't done it yet. When the old module has had software updates from ford would this change the as built data? Does the as built data on motacraft site contain any updates? Or do software updates have no effect on as built data? Thanks for reading

Amazing info Justin. Am really new to this Asbuilt Data stuff and you really cleared lot of doubts I have. But I have a question, where can I check which memory location represents which components? is the memory location name universal for all vehicles? am really looking to enable cruise control on my car, but am unable to figure out which memory location is of CC, kindly help me with this info
@jd_scholl3 жыл бұрын
That's a good question Kiran! the memory locations are going to change vehicle to vehicle and unfortunately there is no real good location for finding out what is what. Most of the memory locations have been found out through trial and error and guys just keep running google sheets documents. Your best bet is to look up your vehicle name followed by "as built spreadsheet" on the forscan site and google

Hi, very informative guide. In my case getting the whole default codes from the motorcraft page, I got a single list of codes with no paragraph or module, detached one by one, codes are all listed with no separation or references unlike it's seen on your guide. Is it possible to do something? It's not easy to understand which is which in my view. I got just numbers. Maybe they removed the module description and left only codes. Thanx

Many thanks for the thorough, professional explanation. I am repairing my friend's Ford Transit Connect Mk2 2015 1.6 TDCi. I replaced the engine, the gearbox from the Mondeo Mk4, improved the isolation of the DPF filter from the block, and so on. The last problem appeared with the power steering, with the PSCM module. I bought the OBDLinkSX interface and registered on the ForScan forum to get the program. Great diagnostic tool! Soon I will try to upload new software to the PSCM module obtained from the link, a page on the forum. So far I only changed the settings in the BCMii module and had to connect to the internet to download Secondary Boot Loader (few seconds). Do I have to be online to upload a PSCM module update? I wish you a lot of health and joy in this difficult time. Greetings from Poland.

Where does forscan save the factory as built data?
@marcus_ohreallyus2 жыл бұрын
Hey Justin, I have a question that I think you'll be able to answer. I bought two signature lights for my Bronco. Passenger side has a control module, but the driver side did not. So I ordered a module and installed the headlights. The passenger side works fine and all functions of the light are correct and I'm assuming it's because the light came from a vehicle that was already configured. The driver side is screwed up... part of the LED doesn't light up, the high beams are always on, etc. If I go into as built and copy the values from the passenger side to the driver side, would that be a good way to get both lights working uniformly?
@jd_scholl2 жыл бұрын
It's certainly worth a try! I would imagine most of the data is the same with the exception there might be small differences because there's a driver side versus passenger side. Without knowing too much how they work though I would think it would get you slightly closer.

Great as built overview - not alot out there on this topic! Thanks for explaining - CLEARLY! One further question - can I also update say my abs module with my original vin as built after swapping abs module from a wreck? I get a vin mismatch error after install and just wonder if I can simply update the abs module with my original vin as built and save using forscan?? Would this make error go away?
@jd_scholl4 жыл бұрын
Hey Joel, thanks for the comment! You should be able to change the vin as long as you are changing it to the original vin of the vehicle. The vin is hidden through out various models and checked. (I once tried changing the vin in the IPC to a different vin and got all kinds of errors). The vin is also just coded in as HEX so you can use am online converter to get the correct values.
