I ran a thirty mile trap line as a teenager. Taking muskrat, beaver and mink. I have been to two rendezvous with the Hudson bay Company. History isn't as remote as you think. Also about that gatlin gun. It was a prototype made by an American inventor. At the time they couldn't find anyone to shoot at in the States so he brought it up to Canada because the Mounties were having trouble with the Native Americans and the French trappers over the land grab. The Natives and trappers were too good at defending prepared positions. The gun allowed the Mounties to mow them done and obliterate those positions. The fight was soon over and the land grab concluded.
