In 1980, I worked at Merom powerhouse near Sullivan, IN. I was told some of the history of Vincennes, but I could never get down there. Now, I must learn via the internet and videos like this. Well done. Keep it going.👍🇺🇸

You might also look up the Indians attacking supply wagons at The Narrows along the Wabash. Fort Harrison in Terra Haute was under siege. I live around a 1 hour away. I love this !

There are soldiers buried next to St Xavier church, which is adjacent to the George Rogers Clark memorial.

Have you visited the outpost GRC placed upstream on a bluff overlooking the Wabash?

No, unfortunately this is the first that I have heard about it. I’m interested to know more.

It’s been several years back that I drove back to it. There’s a cleared area and if I remember correctly a partial log wall and cannon pit located there. GRC had it in place to stop the possible retaliation after taking over the fort at Vincennes. It is an excellent position to see both upstream and downstream of the Wabash. I was born and raised in a small river town on the Wabash. Old York, IL. Is north of Vincennes about an hour. Old York was a major city when river trade was at its peak. It was almost completely destroyed by a cyclone in early 1900’s. Vincennes and GRC has always been extremely interesting to me. We would drive down there every year for the re enactment of GRC’s victory. I now live in Frankfort, KY. and have for soon 9 yrs. and love it. So very rich in history here in KY.! Many thanks for all you share with us!
