I got the Klim Badlands Jacket and pants 4 years ago. I dont wear it in summer in Florida but after it cools down I love my Badlands. I feel so much safer and it is rainproof and loaded with armor. Worth every penny if it keeps me out of the emergency room.

That is what I am planning to do. I don't ride anything yet but I plan to. I don't mind looking like a dork because I am planning to ride a scooter which perhaps already looks dorky so might as well go all in.

just got the Klim Badlands, i'm a 6xl in everyone else's jacket, in the Klim i'm a 3xl, and its loose. I've only worn it twice so far, 1 time in 8 deg C. and 1 time in 32 deg C. day/ evening rides, both times the Gortex kept me cool with 2 rear vents open (its hard to explain how it breaths, but when you warm up, it lets heat out, then when you cool down the heat increases ? some how), and i was warm with all vents shut, yes its heavy to take off and on, but once it's on, kidney belt on (or forgotten to put on) it's so well built the jacket weight disappears... being brand new also i was expecting it to be stiff, it fits me like a Glove straight out of the box, and i love it.

I can't believe you didn't include Helite Airbag jackets in this review. These are clearly the new standard and although Fortnine.ca may not yet carry them (which is in itself odd since you have many $1200+ options) you could have informed your viewers about the safety benefit afforded by air. Afterall, it won't be long before they are required by law, at least in Quebec.

Must be all that free health care you guys get in Canada, in the rest of the world doctors bills are expensive , way more than an airbag jacket, the air bag techs are actually affordable for what you get, I’m more waiting for them to refine them a bit more, i don’t think the neck protection is good enough, you would have to buy a seperate neck air bag to be covered. There the future once they refine it in 5-10 years they will be mandatory.

Whatsup FortNine! As usual, your reviews the most legit out there. I fear after churning out all this great content, you may be running out of review ideas, so here is one... How about height specific gear reviews. Let me explain. I am 1.86m (I think that's 6 foot 2, but I stand under correction ) My trusty steded is a BMW F650 GS 2006. I bought the bike about 5 months ago, and I love it. I have however found that my lower back starts paining if I drive for too long. I have found that I experience relief if I sit on the passenger seat while driving. (Yes, my legs are that long) While it is super comfortable ( for my legs and back) It is also dangerous, as I fear my centre of gravity is too high and I can't grip the 'tank' with my legs as firmly as I would riding on the noemal seat. (I am aware that the actual petrol tank of the 650GS is in-fact under you and not in-front) I am thinking of buying a cushion or seat ad-on that would help to 'raise' the seat height or make other adjustments to the bike itself. I have sifted through many a KZbin video/ vlogger and I am yet to find good videos around this topic (Affordable comfort gear for taller riders). There are however tons of video for shorter riders, but it probably wouldn't be fair to make videos for only the taller blokes. On a completely different topic, I have also been looking for videos of guys using their bluetooth comm system to speak through a megaphone hidden somewhere in/on there motorcycle. Anyone seen anything like this? I have a Comm System (Scala Rider G9X) and want to rig something to receive my voice via bluetooth and feed it into the megaphones mic. ( I could probably write an app for this and strap my phone to the megaphone, but that would be a shlep every time I want to use my phone)

To be fair, if your motorcycle costs less than $600, then why do you care about such armored jackets anyway? You wont be going 80 on a $600 bike, even a used one. These are for people on power bikes, like 300cc at least. Plenty of good $200 jackets for those going under 80mph

Hey Ryan, while an emergency identity card is in theory a great idea and a good selling point, most paramedics are not trained to look for it on the riders gear. You kinda need to be a riding emt to even know such a thing exists.... That being said the same applies to emergency quick pull tabs on helmets. Good marketing but not as practical as you would hope. Keep up the good work mate 👍
@CanadianMotoGal
@CanadianMotoGal 7 жыл бұрын
Adam Efrat As a former paramedic I agree with this - it is getting better but still lacking in training with regards to this in many parts of the EMS world. Hopefully as we continue to spread awareness it gets better!
@Aleph1010
@Aleph1010 7 жыл бұрын
Well the problem is that it's not consistent... not all jackets have the info on the same place for example so its impossible to incorporate it into standardized training. Were you once at BCAS ?
@CanadianMotoGal
@CanadianMotoGal 7 жыл бұрын
Adam Efrat agreed with that as well but it IS a part (or rather a lack of the part I should say) of the training too - I am not directing this to BCAS/JI specifically but rather as a generalization for many EMS training courses ✌

I see no point in buying 1000 USD range jacket in generic size, if you can have made-to-measure for this price which will fit you like a glove. I know it's probably not so the style of FortNine, but would you guys ever do videos of gear made by motorcycle manufactures? i.e. BMW, Ducati, etc. Would love your guys opinions on that type of gear because all you ever get is the opinion from the factory so of course it's "great". Or from die hards who drink the kool aid too much and are probably giving a pretty bias opinion.
