Skins are a huge appeal, reason to grind, and a way of expressing oneselves and their tastes. I'm sure some people who gatekeep skins are also the same type who complain about "woke censorship" (which can be bothersome sometimes, sure), but "if it's just pixels, why does it matter?" It's like y'all can't be happy for others to like the same thing as you. Like, imagine you wanna play as Link from TLoZ, but all that's available is Tingle/Gerudo Crossdressing Link. Another thing that's points to this being a reality is the fact that you can now earn xp for any mode/pass wherever you play (you can now complete the music/lego pass by playing other modes). This would work perfectly with old passes returning as well.

This news came out during chapter 3 or 2, but it resurfaced when the Avatar battlepass was release, Aang was supposed to be released in the item shop or something, not sure what happened to this whole idea but I'm very sure Epic would do it for the money

They made a statement talking about the battle pass skins, no matter the release date, it will return to the item shop. So anything from chapter 1 season 3 till now, could may be released in the near future. They have been really quiet about it, no updates after they made that statement.

Let’s be honest if Fortnite is going to bring us back to these exact seasons in this og mode they said in their tos that they were only exclusive to the seasons not to a specific time frame so if the seasons come back that allows them to bring back the battle passes of those seasons which means free money for them. I feel like everything they have been doing with the battle passes and adding extra battle passes in other modes we’re all an experiment to see if something like this would work they will probably give something to people who probably played during these seasons and maybe something if they owned the battle pass I’m not too sure though.

Also they could work it similar to how they have just done it with the festival skins and make the price of the OG cosmetics more than their original cost meaning older players got a better deal. I feel like an easy counter to that is if they just made the og skins in new battle passes CHALLENGE packs, like the ones you get for real money, instead of just skins. I don't see them overhauling the UI with a segment made completely for skin challenges like in Season 9, but it'd be very easy to have you earn a skin as well as adding some challenges to do that reward you with each style

They can’t legally because they were telling people they can’t come back so for example you wanted Iron Man and you weren’t level 100 you would have to buy your way through because it was the only way then them say we’re just joking. You can get it right now if you want, it is fourths advertisement because they made people spend money that they wouldn’t have had to. I had to buy my way through the Marvel season, for example since I had eye surgery, I couldn’t see for about three weeks. I was able to finish up my weeklies in the last day or two, and then I had to buy my way to get everything else. If I was told you know you can get it another time. I probably would’ve waited. Of course it’s been years, but you still get my point.

​@@Derekmilewskiit's not illegal, nor False Advertisement, it's In their EULA that they can change the terms or conditions of "any sale, event, cosmetic, or wording" and you agreed to the EULA when you played the game. They can do it and they can't be sued for it. They gave OG styles to Paradigm and Bow blade owners to make them happy and keep playing, not to avoid a lawsuit. Same would likely happen with Old battle passes, original owners would get an exclusive style if they did bring them back.

Fortnite will probably bring the og passes, starter packs, and crew back. What I think what they will do is add exclusive styles for battle pass skins. For example, they can give Omega the customization that Spectral Knight had and for chapter 2 season 2 they could give people who originally had the passes both the ghost and shadow versions of the skins. Then for the starter packs and crew skins idk what they would do for them. Edit: Fortnite could refund people v-bucks or give them v-bucks for the starter packs,crew, and battle passes if they don’t make exclusive styles.

If they do it with chapter 1, then who’s to say they won’t do it with other chapters. People value their skins exclusivity to that time to show they played during that time and if they did this then many players would lose that love of their skins exclusivity. Yes not many players have the chapter 1 skins but millions have the chapter 2 skins and chapter 3 skins which could also return if they do this therefor losing a lot of players who are outraged by their promise that they had of their skin staying exclusive technically legally being broken.

I guarantee half of them never use those items and only use them to flex. There are many games that have just abolished exclusivity of items and their community took it pretty well as it allowed players to express themselves how they want. Without being told they had to play 5 years ago and reach a high level or complete a specific challenge,so now they can't have that. I think cosmetics should be seen as a way to express your personality and just basically what you like. Not a way to show someone you played the game when you were 6 😂 . I think the only items that should really be exclusive is those that where only available by purchasing a physical product ( the ones that came with consoles and phones ) cuz people genuinely paid a lot of money for them to be exclusive.

As someone who played back then. Battle Passes (since starter packs and etc. wasn’t a thing) were never marketed as “exclusive” or better yet; “never to return”. So I’m not sure when this “exclusive” word actually popped up or if people are just using it loosely not knowing that the word has several different meanings in the business world anyway. For the record “exclusive” does not mean never to return. People need to research what “exclusive” actually means and not what they think it means.

I doubt they will lose players cause of this.Let’s be honest a lot of the so called “OG” players that have black knight or renegade raider and so on are people that have bought accounts and mainly be in maps like party royale or any role playing map that is similar to party royale to flex there “OG” account would be the ones upset over this compared to those that have actually been playing the game since the beginning and so far from what I’ve seen playing the game over the years a lot of the real “OG” players either don’t play Fortnite anymore or they run skins that everyone else runs nowadays, cause I haven’t seen a single renegade raider, black knight, purple skull etc in battle royale or reload since and only see those skins in party royale or role playing maps. This is just another money grab tactic ngl, they have millions of more players now compared to chapter 1. Epic is going to make money while the players have a civil war about OG stuff returning. I'm an OG player and I lost access to my account with chpt 1 s4-8 battlepass stuff. I always wished I had those skins BUT, there's no going back about it. Would I like the skins now? Probabaly. But is this a good idea for the overall game? I don't think so. We look at the Renegade raider, Black Knight, or aerial assault trooper skins and go WOW because it's a rare skin. If it comes back, the whole lobby is going to be full of it. The same situation with the recon expert returning will happen. Let's be honest, none of the skins except black knight are actually good skins, they are very very mid, but we all like it because of how rare it is to come across one, it's special and unique for that reason. When it comes out, a lot of people are going to buy it because of the hype around it, sooner or later they'll realize that it wasn't worth it and it has become a default skin in lobbies.

Fortnite will probably bring the og passes, starter packs, and crew back. What I think what they will do is add exclusive styles for battle pass skins. For example, they can give Omega the customization that Spectral Knight had and for chapter 2 season 2 they could give people who originally had the passes both the ghost and shadow versions of the skins. Then for the starter packs and crew skins idk what they would do for them.

It’s definitely a possibility. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did find a loophole around that since they did update old BP assets in the files. I think one way to satisfy all players is to make exclusive styles for the OG players who got the bp years ago; similar to what they did with The Paradigm. So everyone will be satisfied.

Idk, I feel like they would make more money in the long run releasing remixed or revamped versions of the old battlepass skins. A lot of the chapter 1 battlepass skins aren’t that great and once the novelty of “Omg! The old battlpass skins are back!” wears off, then you’ll see a drop off in sales. Now, if epic goes the route of redoing these skins and releasing them in the item shop, as long as they are up to current Fortnite quality, then you’ll always have an audience for those cosmetics.
