I adore the unsettling mechanical sounds this game makes The noises made by the Siege Engine and other stone guardians are the kind of sounds i wish were my voice if i had one [im mute irl] And the way the monoliths act when you pray to them, you can FEEL the power they emit when you activate them, it scared the hell out of me the first time i figured it out My unflinching dedication to going through my youtube backlog in chronological order continues. send help.

I defeated the Siege Engine with one health left too, and then I was shot by one of the fairies at the beginning of the death cutscene! So I didn't get to see the whole death animation, but I'm glad the game let me keep the win once I spawned back in.

I noticed that weak spot at the back too, I think I couldn't consistently get it unless I froze Siege Engine so I just committed to attacking the front. A neat tip for avoiding the giant laser is that there are obstacles around that block it! Same goes for that machine gun.

I wonder if the strategy could be to kill the fairies it summons, use the mana from them to freeze the boss, then quickly dash around to the back.

Atoll is a coral island... Oh, I see what Welonz is doing. I've finally figured it out💡 When Welonz asks "what is a %word%?" in her video there will be dozens of comments with the answer. Good for the algorithm, increases engagement. Smart and sneaky, Ms.Welonz😉

I love how the general art style looks simple and clean but with a lot of small details in the animations, physics and sfx, visually it's really cool! And congrats on that 2nd boss! Don't know if it has an intented strat but it seemed annoying :s

Like every souls game, big monster means stick close to it, dodge through its attacks using invulnerability and keep hitting where it hurts. Staying under its head let's you dodge all his shots already, and be in the perfect place to hit its back when he stands up to throw bombs. It's not trying to hide it, just that it can only hit you from the front so it's just trying to attack you really.

The usual way to start decrypting is to look for common words that have a recognisable structure. Like the words 'I' and 'a' are the only two common English words that would be one-char long. And the words 'the' and 'and' is commonly used in English so look for a 3-char word that appears regularly. Also look for repeated letters, like 'ee' and 'oo' which are common in English. If you find a word with repeated chars in something that looks like it would have numbers then it'll be 'somethingteen'. Plus the 'one' 'two' etc numbers can be recognisable. That's all assuming that the encryption is a simple replacing of english letters with the new letters. If the language is completely different then that's much more difficult!

Like, the text at @37:04 looks like it is probably "COIN" but why does it look like only 3 characters? It either says something other than COIN, in which case no problem, or it says COIN but there's no relationship between that encoded text and what the English word is: in which case, really difficult to decode.

@@Sumaleth SPOILER for language if you didnt figure it out by now and do still care, TUNICs language can be deciphered, but its a phonetic language, i.e. each character corresponds to a sound you can make. So Coin isnt 4 letters, but the 3 sounds ko . ii. n.

That's called frequency analysis and is a good start on simple substitution ciphers. It won't work on this language since the characters are not single letters.

Good job with the Siege Engine! Another valid strategy is just staying in its face. That's how I did it anyway, distance is your enemy in that fight. That purple line was off before, you did activate it by lowering the RGB monolith. :3

21:56 remembered you saying you might not be able to swap during fights. But nice job, guess this boss "forces" players to swap (first time I did). Did the same strat as yours and unfortunately found it a bit boring, too.

Great job with the Siege Engine! When I fought it I used it's exploding attacks against it, took cover until they were destroyed and then used lures a couple of times. It still took me 4 tries to beat it though. Anyways, the language isn't gibberish if you were wondering, you can translate it, if you want then here's a small hint: the horizontal edge is pretty much useless and is just for showing how long a word is. Here's a translated prompt for you: "Just a Well?" You don't need to be an expert in the language to finish the game, and the game itself will provide hints for deciphering it. Let us know if you need more hints!

I have no idea but I could imagine that once you complete the game, you unlock a version where everything is translated 🤔 Would at least be a need way to give the game a lot of replay value ^^ Also, those foreign, encrypted words under the location's title are definitely some kind of descriptions, I think. That's also what leads me to believe you will be able to read it at some point.

the idea of this game was wat if u got a japanese only game with its manual used by a very passionate gamer, u can see marks on the manual u want to play and learn more but u dont know the language so u decipher it with pictures and in game clues like we do back in the day. its VERY COOL of the devs to make a VERY AWESOME game like this. props to them, hope u find all if not most of the puzzle answers here ...good luck playing

I suspect there may have been a better way to do that boss fight but not sure. Based on how you did it, it *looked* like they meant for a different strategy to work. - The final assault you did was because the boss turned a big laser towards you, which meant it stopped, so you could hit the back. Might be that "the" strategy is to goad it to do that laser and *then* go back there? Not sure

For decoding the language, the prompts that pop up when you interact with items is a good place to start since they're short and their meanings are easier to guess, like "take/pick up sword?". When you interacted with the bells (the big golden tuning forks) in the East and West Belltowers there is a pop-up window that basically told you to ring the bell by striking it. Only the words "ring" and "strike" are in English. So the sentence probably said something like: "to ring bell, you strike bell".
