Mandatory breath tests should be conducted for every Congressman to be allowed into any Govt session. We have way too much legislation that must have been created by drunk lawmakers.

I work for a school bus company, last year they implemented these Lytx cameras on all their buses that have AI algorithms that constantly tells you you’re doing things wrong, it has this annoying speaker on it with a shrill female voice they everyone at the company (except the higher ups) has come to hate. And the major problem with it is it’s wrong 90% of the time. It tells you you’re following the vehicle in front of you too closely when you come to a stop sign or a red light, it’s even said that when we were on an empty road, it tells you you’re speeding whenever you pass an exit on the highway because the GPS shows you as being on the street next to the on or off ramps, it’s claimed we’ve ran stop signs where there were no stop signs, and most hilariously when we’re at the company base it picks up the stops signs on the buses that are parked there and tells us we ran through them. What makes all this not so funny though is it send a real-time message to the office taddling on us. Implementing crappy AI algorithms like this into every car in the country is not gonna go well, especially if people start getting traffic tickets mailed to them for things they didn’t do. Everyone will be getting them, constantly.

Trucking companies were putting this garbage in their new fleet trucks too. It’s absolutely terrible! But being truck drivers, we found a way around it. A simple piece of paper slid over the lens and a stupid Covid mask was enough to defeat the system and return our driving, plus our privacy to us. Now this was two years ago, who knows what new “improved” junk they’re putting in the new trucks now since I quit driving.

My car has “lane assist” in it, which almost killed me. I was able to finally disable it and it is permanently off! When I brought it into the dealership after the above incident, they gave me a bulletin from Mazda, stating it was a “known” problem. Cars do collect data on your driving. Cops need a search warrant to tap that information. My car shows the current speed limit, BUT it also picks up speed limits from the signs on the service road. At one part of I-29, where the actual speed limit is 65, my car states it is 25mph. That is why I cannot do one of the insurance company discount plug ins.
@GenXPertChannel
@GenXPertChannel 5 ай бұрын
That not really how the data presents of queried- your GPS coordinates and speed are recorded, but the speed limit data represented in your on-screen nav system GPS is not tied to the data collection at all. If you want an insurance company to monitor everything you do to save a couple bucks, go for it. The amount of data your car stores is truly amazing, but correlation to speed limits isn't one of them.

Usually stuff like this is hidden or reworded as some new invention or feature. And often people fall for it without reading the fine print. Like when those new smart thermostats cam out in early 2010’s. Of course people were stoked about controlling their air conditioning from the cellphones or pc. And had eco friendly systems in place. Of course in the fine print it mentioned that once you sign on the power company can have direct access to the thermostat and over ride any settings at anytime for what they call saving power on the grid. Now you have Biden pushing the ev cars on everyone.

This is about out of control lobbying (MADD). They claim to be “against drunk driving “ but have lobbied for people already convicted of drunk driving to (in lieu of having a suspended license) be required to install breathalyzers. So you are required to install it… you aren’t allowed to take a plain suspension. When you follow the money you see that MADD quietly invested in these companies that monitor and install these devices which they then lobbied courts to reverse their original laws requiring suspensions and force install these devices instead. They have now increased these businesses revenue by billions in a few years.

@@1JamesHamilton1 I know right these are all the things I’m thinking I’ve had a stalker… I had friends be attacked by somebody while they’re trying to get in their car at Walmart… They got away because they were able to immediately pull out and get out of the parking lot . What if you have to do a breathalyzer every time you drive or the car shut down because it reads your behavior improperly as being drunk when all you are scared for your life…. This sounds like such a danger to everybody…. I don’t trust a computer to be able to supersede my decisions . I am a grown human being. I can make my own decisions as an adult about what I’m safe to do and what I am not. This idea that we are all overgrown children that can’t think and feel and react and make decisions for ourselves is exactly the issue we have . Are there people that are overgrown and they do not act responsibly? Of course … If we’re concerned that increasing, we should do something to help society that problem, not legislate laws to prevent people from being able to do every day things and use the tools they have in their lives, whether it be a car or something at their house and have to be constantly watched by everybody to make sure we “behave”… We are not a society of children and the sooner we start pushing back and telling the government to F off and then we are adults that can handle our own lives and they need to back off… We need to stand up and the way we do that is by refusing to buy those cars for as long as we can… scared the crap out of them Also, if it does cause problems for you, you need to sue the government if you get an accident because of one of these stupid cars, whether it’s your car or someone else’s The government and demand that federal law because it is unconstitutional and dangerous … We also could start calling the Supreme Court and demand this law as unconstitutional .

@@Xiaengao On the contrary, either you're a pessimist or you have unrealistically high expectations. There's no magic button here that automatically makes everything right just because a few of the right people were put into office, and for sure it takes more than elected officials to turn things around. In the first place, it doesn't get to be this bad overnight, or because one or two bad politicians were put into office. The fact of the matter is that our governmental system was designed for everyone to be engaged, and in order for it to continue properly everyone has to have their priorities in order when they go to the voting booth. We ended up in this situation because the American people became corrupted, and in turn voted corruptly. Every person that goes out and votes for politicians that promise them benefits is part of the problem, but just as much are the people that "don't like to talk politics", because they are paving the way for the corrupt voters to get what they want. The only way for this to be turned around is for the U.S to turn from its hedonistic ways and back to God, who is the only source of good in the world. We have to return to the traditional values that used to govern this country, and that can only work if we turn back to the source of those values.

Electric "self driving" cars have taught us that software can do things that lead to accidents. If you were shaky from a large cut, loosing blood, and were trying to get to the hospital, this would not be a good idea. Imagine washing your interior windows with a window cleaner that has alcohol as an ingredient... In an emergency you would not be able to move your car. I often "straighten" the curves so my passengers are more comfortable and my lane departure alarm goes off. How would this system react? What happens when your vehicle gets old and the thing breaks? Boeing found out the hard way that software does not fix every problem, adding more complexity to an already complex machine is not smart.

It is not unjust or oppressive government power, it is not handed down by a single ruler with absolute power, and it doesn't come from the office of someone with absolute power. English words have meaning and you should learn what those meanings are before using them or you may just expose how ignorant you are. Today, our CJS is Big Business thanks almost exclusively to the War on Drugs. In fact, 2/3 of the people in our jails and prisons are there due to drugs and drug related charges. Places like Wyoming have extreme weather conditions. High winds and blizzards with little to no advanced notice, and all of this in a mostly rural environment. A person can be driving along I-80, at 80 MPH, and be hit with a 60 MPH gust of wind. That gust will cause you swerve and have to work to maintain your lane. Will this system recognize that as a deviation from normal driving behavior and shut your vehicle down? What happens if a person gets their vehicle shut down in a rural area without cell service during freezing temps? There are lots of variables that I doubt any of these "officials" have taken into account.

Wildlife running into the road or roads with poor maintenance would also trigger a system that bases things on "erratic" driving. Or dirt roads. Dirt roads do all sorts of strange things to car systems designed by city people who've never seen dirt roads. My Hyundai i20 ABS and traction control go mental on dirt roads. Traction control I can just turn off, but ABS has caused some scares when braking simply stops working (until you force the pedal down harder).

I honestly have no idea where to start to fight this. Write my congressman who voted for it? My voice as a constituent is muted. I already voted the other way, and it didn't matter. The fact that this isn't on the news is absurd. Why do I have to find out from a lawyer on KZbin when the government is invading my privacy and taking away my rights?
