@@Szlejer Well aparently they don´t need to be, the streetbikes sell like hotcakes and they race and win in almost every major division. Every brand has their up and downsides.

@@russcattell955i agree 100% I had a 2006 Yamaha 450 4 stroke enduro awhile back and that engine was absolutely bullet proof…no reason for those break downs except Shotty engine design/production.

Really incredible two shorts track days and two broken down bikes.. do not enter the dakar with these bikes.. really weird, they just shoud be better? What is going on..

Al I think you went through every emotion in this vid, at one point when you crossed the line I thought you were about to burst into tears... You have to be mentally tough to complete the Dakar, this rally will hopefully show you that mentally you are ready(ish), you stayed calm and didn't flip out when things were not going to the plan... Hope that you and Boothy get to see the final ramp for the Dakar...

All round top work for even completing the rally Al. Could have given up more than once but showed balls by cracking on when things went wrong......... And bonus points for breaking down and managing a piss up at the same time. Boothy can learn from that not to break down in the middle of nowhere without burgers and cerveza to hand

Imagine it. Breaking down in your 1st rally in an unfamiliar country wondering what the fuck you’re going to do now. Then you come across some awesome people who feed you burgers and get you pissed while you watch everyone else ride/drive by. That’s pretty epic!

Well done boys. You did your best and pushed yourselves to the limit. The experience must have taught you a great deal about rallying and yourselves... next year you will know what you are letting yourselves in for and hopefully get a better result just remember life is all about the journey not about winning.

Up the Stath and gang! Learn and move on to the next one. All i got at the time card station when i pushed in once was a breakfast roll and a bottle of water! I thought that was good, but burgers and beer.. Living the dream kid :)

24 million dollar question is would you choose thd same bikes if there was a next time? Reliability seems a bit of a lottery on these ralleys. What legends those Spanish guys were! Great effort guys.

Epic series, can't wait for the future endeavours of this type of riding! Quality crew is essential. Seems there's a bit of work to do on the bikes though, although I understand they take a massive beating. For the blisters: I've used micropore for a 100km walk and never felt anything scratchy. (don't know if that's a thing in the UK and if you can find it somewhere, I sure hope so!)

@44teeth how did the RST adventure gear hold out, I have the older jacket, but the benefit of taking the insulated liner and the waterproof liner out separate to each other, mine is a 3-1 jacket, I believe the new one only gives you the option of taking out waterproof/insulated liner as one, where's the older version they can be separated.

I was told that the waterproof liner and insulated liner can't be used separately to each other with the jacket, or have I been misled, I still love my Adventure 3, the jacket has loads of venting and is great, just wondering if the latest model is worth replacing it with. Thanks
