Hope you guys take it easy out there as having done road and dirt competitions, offroad commands supreme fitness,focus and a huge passion for the sport aka Lyndon . Your so lucky to have a tent and a crew , most Mal-Moto riders dont have a pot to piss in most of the time. The dakar is not the sort of race you can ride a few enduro's and then swanter in and have a crack......no the dakar commands respect and needs a 2 or 3 year plan to have a crack, the sleep deprivation , punishing schedule of physical and mental abuse breaks seasoned pro's and amateurs alike ....................shit the bed Jason!

@@RedBeardWalking the roadbook navigation is a big chunck of how you end up in the rankings. Errors in navigation may cost you a lot more time than going a bit slower. Cars in the Dakar will have a digital roadbook starting from next year i believe but that will basically be just a digital version of the old one, it will not scroll based on position. Now if on cars where you actually have someone checking it while the other guy drive it may still make some sense. Frankly on motorbikes i believe is just plain stupid and anachronistic to keep on going with the roadbook. If you ask me, I just hate it.
