Kermit Gause's 1984 Biturbo started life with the unreliable carbureted twin turbo unit. That all changed when an unusual 2.8 liter was tracked down and the Maserati hot rod was born. That's why we Japanese bought almost all of the Biturbos from Italy:) We have workshop exclusively for Biturbo and they can mend Biturbo properly(some workshop can even produce parts from scratch!!), and owners that could love them from heart. I, luckily, happened to be one of them

The original engine in that car was a carbureted 2.5L (turbo charged). The guy doesn't even seem to know what he has. The original Biturbo series ranged from 1981 to 1997.

I love this guys dedication towards this car. If youre going to put that much effort into a car it needs to be kept for pretty much a long time. Anyways the Biturbo is quite unique and I guess you could say this maybe compete with an M3 in that era with the conversion

I'm pretty sure he did sell it, I've seen it around a few months ago and it's still just as clean as it is in the video. The new owner replaced the rims with BBS's but that's about the only difference I was able to tell

My team has just done an engine swap on a Biturbo replacing it with a Fiat 1.4L MultiAir Turbo engine cranked to 260 bhp.

That magazine estimate the car like if it was a cheap car to maintain. That was not, it was a true Maserati to maintain. I knew a place official Maserati where they had an... international Biturbo customers, who were very happy and excited to use it every day. And when they modified the 2.0 liter to 510hp (with original parts), the car was still usable every day with no pain. People, magazine, etc. always talk, but when the subject is special like with the Biturbo or the SM Citroën, they should better stay muted.

Yeah but the list was completely wrong on all levels; Amphicar, Lamborgini LM002, Mosler Consulier GTP, Ford Excursion, Fiat Multipla (ugly, but not bad by any means), Plymouth Prowler, Ford Explorer (invalid section), BMW 7-series, Waterman Aerobile, Lotus Elite, LeBaron, Bricklin SV1, all make the list invalidated, especially the Explorer. So if it winds up on the list, it's automatically illegitimate evidence of the cars poor quality.
