The T100 was my #1 off road truck on FH4. I have an S2 build for it that was a beast. It's more of an A/S1 class vehicle on FH5 though. Off road vehicles seem extremely "squishy" on FH5.

My man. Thank you. THANK. YOU. I have been struggling with offroad and dirt races in horizon 5. I'm a decent driver (by no means great or good) but in 4 I could win the seasonal championships with maybe the occasional slip to 2nd or 4th place. I have been beating my brain against the wall because I struggle so hard on offroad and dirt. Tarmac is easy for me though. And I have been trying different setups and watching different tuning guides, then I cam across this video. First thing I did, was try this tune to see if my driving style would work with this. It did. I then took the exact same numbers you have for this tune (except the rear decel, I followed your tip and set it lower) and applied it to the Trackhawk and the Porsche Cayenne, with the same damn results. I literally went from averaging 5-6th place and the occasional 1st if I got lucky, to consistent 1st place. I haven't played this game in month because how crappy I was at the offroad. So once again, THANK YOU!!! I owe you a beer for sure.

The flywheel is the first thing I upgrade helps immensely for quicker revs.
@ConnerSpeed62 жыл бұрын
I get that, but there is no performance benefit that is worthy of taking a few PI when I could just add more power or drop some weight!
@mikebrockus10032 жыл бұрын
@@ConnerSpeed6 yes because it's that much lighter means it Rev a lot quicker and a lot faster just try it out you'll notice and if u don't like it then go back just change it but with the lighter flywheel it will always rev quicker and faster up top in higher RPM. Just something to think about it.

I found that naturally aspirated for this truck makes for the best handling. The faster and more power the truck gets, the worse the handling is. Top speed of 150-200 seems to be the best spot. The best I was able to do was 4.0 for the V6, 3.9 for the 6.2L V8, and 3.8 for the 7.2L V8 engines
@ConnerSpeed62 жыл бұрын
Interesting! I love how every upgrade installed affects the overall performance!
@ThatWolfFromHyruleGaming2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes not for the better. The best HP I was able to produce without sacrificing too much handling was 975. More then that or adding turbo or superchargers sapped handling. Fully upgrading the truck (absolutely everything) had handling go as low as 3.2

Upon learning more about this truck in real life, it was the 3rd desert race truck built by PPI in a series of four (the final truck was built and testing in 1993 but was not proven so they raced this truck to victory in that years Baja 1000). Also due to how it was built, awd on this truck and the later variant is physically impossible. Being a mid-mounted engine, there is a short driveline to the rear transaxle. Thats right, no traditional differential. The front and rear axles have nothing hanging down to keep clearance as high as possible at a full 17”. So how would you run a driveline linkage up to the front? Theoretically you can but it would need to either run along side the edges of the cockpit walls or under the seat mounts, but trying to figure that out has left me scratching my head no matter how I look at it. On a minor note, this truck is known as chassis 010. It was introduced in 1989 and had the Toyota 3.0L 300hp 3VZ-E V6 engine. Suspension was made possible with torsion bars and a-arms with 2 shocks per front wheel and 3 per rear wheel, full IFS and IRS. Top speed was about 90mph yet it was faster and more nimble than all the other 600-800hp V8 trucks it raced against, winning most events from the San Felipe 250 to the Baja 500 multiple times. It was retired in 1993 as stated above. The new truck, known as chassis 015, was introduced in 1994 with a revised and simplified chassis with easier to service suspension. Somewhere along the lines the newer truck (not appearing in any recent games sadly, would have been more than ideal for FH4 and FH5) received the 5VZ-FE 3.4L 360hp V6 as this game suggests. About 100mph or so. Suspension was double a-arms and a single coilover hybrid shock absorber with a stiff spring and specially designed air cooled bypass. This V6 setup ran from 1994 to 1996, where it placed second in that years Baja 1000. In 1997, they finally upgraded to a 4.9L 580hp V8 taken from a Lexus LS 400. The won the debut Baja 500 race and was something like 35+ minutes ahead of the second place truck. Sadly the engine blew during the Baja 1000 that year and needed a total rebuild. The truck came back the next year in 1998 with a radical new paint job and rebuilt V8 and swept the desert series and was stronger than ever, winning both the 500 and 1000 races. Next year the truck once again won the 500 but came in 2nd in the 1000. 2000 was the last year the truck and driver raced, winning the 500 that year but tragedy would strike again during the 1500+ mile Baja 2000. Details are scarce but one news article said that the truck suffered an engine failure after 9 hours. The ultimate fate of 015 was that it sat in storage for about 12 years, then was restored and sold off in an auction to an unknown bidder. Recent video shows the truck in a motorsports museum on display but it is not known if it was donated or sold to the museum. The familiar Toyota Racing livery pattern stayed on the truck for the most part, logos changing here and there. That pattern was kept from 1989 to 1997, until changing to black, red, gray, and white in 1998 with a totally different design. My favorite will always be the earlier livery pattern.

Is anyone else having an issue where even though it reads A800 when u r all finished building, yet it reads S1 802 when u try and confirm purchase of parts? It literally shows me that all the parts I’ve selected are equal up to and that exactly of your tune and parts, all the numbers are exactly the same everything. Yet when I push start 2 times to get to the confirm purchase screen, it reads it is changing from an 800 to an 802?

Why put more gears in the car than you need, it’s unnecessary weight
@ConnerSpeed62 жыл бұрын
These other transmissions in the game actually lower weight and increase handling and other things as well. Typically without a big PI jump too
@joshhale70122 жыл бұрын
@@ConnerSpeed6 the less speeds you have in your transmission the lighter the gearbox and having to change gears more often because you’re not in your power band for as long will slow you down because you can’t accelerate while changing gears. I’m just so confused, if the car can’t get out of 6th gear it doesn’t need 8

@ConnerSpeed6 that and they're so difficult to tune. i got the new Toyota at37 suv that came out in this update and its such a pain to tune for cross country and rally. maybe it needs less weight? it literally has almost 600hp with a supercharger on it and i can't figure out how to make the wheels grip on to the dirt but it is like 5,000lbs so maybe that's the issue
