Apologies if my voice sounds a bit un-natural throughout this video. I'm not used to recording such long videos. Also, ignore the on screen footage for Damping. I got the Bump and Rebound mixed up. You want the Bump Stiffness to be 3 and the Rebound to be 2-4 times that.

Roll Cage isn't uselss for road racing imo. I have found lateral G's to be a pretty important stat. Without the extra rigidity your car can feel like it pushing into the corner instead of powering through it. I find it a pretty cheap PI cost for the lateral g's it provides. Most times you can cover your lateral G's with the rest of your parts and don't need to add extra weight to provide it. I put them in a lot more than he is stating you ever would. Basically personal choice though, Not a must, but could be helpful in a certain scenario.

Good Explanations. But please explain the following: A lot of tuning options have multiple types (drift, ralley, offroad, sport, race) - Example: Whats the Differenz between Sport-Differencial and Race-Differencial.
@ShadowRacing
@ShadowRacing 11 күн бұрын
The difference between Street, Sport, and everything else, it the tuning adjustability options that the upgrade will unlock. The difference between Drift, Rally, Race, ect. is often just the pre-set tuning values, but sometime it also affects the range of values for tuning. Hope that clears it up.

I'm late at the party, so first of all, thank you and Sepi for this. I generally know how to tune cars for my driving style but from time to time problems arises and no matter what I do in the tuning section I can't find the solution. Recently I was tuning a P1 for S2, not a good car for it's class in any way but I like the car and that's all it matters to me. I stumbled across a way-too-responsive front-end which I'm still unable to tune and was curious to know what settings might affect it the most. I asked around reddit, a couple of discord servers, and I was getting different answers, which none of them helped me. This might not be a tune problem at all and I could've just used wrong upgrades, but I'm curious to know what'd you think, before diving into the upgrade section once more.
@ShadowRacing
@ShadowRacing 11 ай бұрын
So firstly, you could remove the front splitter if you have it on. Then the next thing to do would be to stiffen the front anti-roll bars. After this, if it's AWD, lower the Diff on Accel and Decel. Try this and see how you get on.

Track width does a lot in certain vehicles like mid engine rwd cars its best to keep front track width stock as upgrading the front will make your car understeer like no other upgrade even with front aero . Great vid other than that. Play with track width stock on the test track then upgrade one level of width then test it. You will notice it hugely in 2wd cars more so than awd

Respectfully, isn't this damper methodology backwards? I've always thought bump/compression stiffness had to be softer than rebound, with the idea being that impacts and irregularities wouldn't upset the car, and a firmer rebound helped settle the suspension's secondary motions. Doesn't this seem inverted? Having stiff bump absorption with weak secondary motion mitigation. Or is this a Forza Logic thing that exclusively applies to the game's physics?

Hi there ! Thanks a lot to you and SP4 for the video and the cheatsheet ! I'm learning tuning in FH5 and it's helping me a lot :) I have a question about my GT-R black edition AWD S1 road build which is a bit understeery in mid corner and a lot in corner exit, where should I look to fix it ? Because I tried change some values in diff and ARBs but I can't fix the understeer, and if I want to progress to be able to create tunes for cars that I love I need to learn how to solve these problems. Here are some infos about my tune without the changes I tried : - 924 hp, 1,429 kg (0.646 power/weight ratio) - rally tires with 1.5 tires pressure - camber set to -0.3 both front and rear, with 7.0° front caster angle - ARBs set to 1 to the front and 65 to the rear - 75 kgf/mm on springs with max ride height - 6.5 rebound stiffness and 3.0 bump stifness - front aero locked due to the use of the bodykit, rear aero set to slightly lower value than front - 100% diff accel and 0% diff decel, with 75% to the rear in center balance Thanks in advance to anyone who will take the time to help me !
@ShadowRacing
@ShadowRacing 6 ай бұрын
Some Cars will always have an understeery nature, and there's not a lot you can do to Tune it out. But first, you should change these few things: - Minimum Rear Aero value. - Lower ride height by about 25% on front and rear, Max is a bit excessive. - Set Cambers to around -0.5, -0.3 is a bit low. - Make front Springs, and Dampers a bit softer than the rear ones. - On Diff Settings, set: Front - Accel: 100%, Decel: 0% Rear - Accel: 100%, Decel: 10% Hope this helps.

Can you clarify how rally tyres are better than semi-slicks for road racing in S1 class? And why rally are preferred so much over the semis even in lower classes? It got me very confused when you said it at 11:43
@ShadowRacing
@ShadowRacing Жыл бұрын
Ok, so first of all, ignore all the names of the tyres. They just make it confusing because most tyres aren't best for what they say they're for. For S1-Class, the Rally Tyres are better value PI wise. And for lower classes this is the same, because there's no point using up so many PI rating for tyres that will give more grip but you won't have enough power to utilise that extra grip. I hope that makes sense. Let me know if it still doesn't.
@PetrosTheBullet
@PetrosTheBullet Жыл бұрын
@@ShadowRacing okay i see what you mean and i understand.. one would guess that rally and offroad tyres would be useless in road conditions but i guess not. Thank you
@ccloak
@ccloak Жыл бұрын
@@PetrosTheBullet Pi calculations for tyre compound results in compound choices that made no sense name wise. Rally is better than Sports for road, and Offroad is better than Rally for dirt, all due to relative Pi cost. Rally is too good for both road and dirt for it's Pi cost compared to Sports for road racing, while Offroad is too cheap for its even better dirt performance over Rally, making any road grip traded using Rally tyres too expensive for dirt racing. Offroad tyres is also way too good on snow, making snow tyres obsolete for its main role. Snow tyres is instead used for drifting, competing with Drift tyres. This is how confusing tyre compound is right now in FH5.

@AllardWolff Жыл бұрын
@@ShadowRacing So I just hold down clutch, slowly apply throttle and see at which RPM the HP number is the highest. Then adjust 2nd gear so that the start of the line on the graph is close to that optimal rev range. Is that correct? What does it mean for the engine to “stall” during launch? Is it if it lowers rpm at any point, even just a hitch as it catches, or would it be a big drop?
@ShadowRacing
@ShadowRacing 3 ай бұрын
It's basically just when you drop so much rpm at launch, that the game has to automatically engage the clutch for a moment, to help you gain back enough rpm. If you open telemetry, and you look at the clutch input, if you see the game giving you any clutch input at launch, then that is a stall.
