Had same issue with Understeer when I first played GT7.. Was screaming I WONT YOU TURN.. WHY WONT YOU BRAKE…. You’re to used to F1. nothing stops and turns like a F1.

But this game on default tune is way too understeery. ACC GT4 and GT3 cars feel so much better than on FM. It certainly doesn't help if you are used to F1 games when switching. I play both F1 and ACC and every time I switch it requires a few laps for my brain to readjust.

​@@VinumDeuswell default setups make it understeery (high tyre pressures) and you def have to adjust the controls if you are in a steering wheel, the default settings are for controller players

The in-game wheel setting need a bunch of customizing out of the box. Also the cars need tuning for the understeer. I noticed that a lot of them have by default very high tire pressures. Reducing that helped a lot.

The game doesn't suck, it just need some help (updates) in some key areas. Like pop ups and rendering issues. I wish Turn10 would do their replays differently as I absolutely hate that the replay stops as soon as your car hit the finishline. It should show cars cruising around like a cool down lap. I've seen cars fall through the track and lift in the air from time to time like they are possessed. And get ridd of the car RPG thing, people want choices, variety, freedom. I want the same car with different tunes. Or I want a car with a specific tune and it's rival or competition car with the exact tune. But no I can't do that I have to drive across the galaxy and back to get the cars to level up to get those specific tunes.

Forza's cars have always had serious understeer issues. Having said that, I'm not sure what's going on with online races. Watched Rory's livestream the other day and the car handling there in online races looked fine. I guess they've imposed understeer in unmodded cars to allow the user to improve the handling with mods.

I mean, standard cars are tuned to understeer for safety in handling. Very few, if any 'normal' cars are tuned to be oversteery out of the factory, or they become know as difficult to drive and 'widowmakers'. A notable exception is something like the Dodge Viper which has extremely neutral handling which allows the driver to provoke either understeer or oversteer quite easily. It became known as 'dangerous' because of it, as an amateur driver would quickly find themselves in dire straits if they disrespected or mishandled it. A lot of people have no real idea how cars work, like for example picking the heaviest car with the heaviest engine pushed furthest out the front because 'it definitely won't understeer' 👀 Not saying the handling model isn't borked, just pointing out something that is often overlooked in the car world.

When I bought the Cadillac car separately I had to reduce steering lock in the car tuning menu as my wheel rotation in the software was set to auto which is probably 1080 degrees. I couldn’t do any slow corners as I would have to turn the wheel a ton and thought I was under steering. Slowing down didn’t make a difference. What’s worse is the in game hands doesn’t reflect this. They just match how much you turn the wheel and stop at 360 degrees lock for all cars even if your wheel can actually go to 900 or more. The game doesn’t tell you this either. Not sure about the beginning intro race however

The stopage at 360 is just wheel animation (180 each side), you can still put 900 on your settings, it wont turn visually 900 degrees, but the car will behave like it... NOW, in a game like this, you better reduce it to like 800 or so, making those turns more easy to make

@@Covac713yeah I realised as I said. Espescially need more in these high downforce cars where you need to turn quicker during the whole corner. So better to just start with your baseline then tune steering lock down by individual car as it saves. Just bad we have to figure it out on our own rather than having usable defaults like other pc games

Kireth just uploaded a video where he did a pretty comprehensive video on his in game wheel settings, he tried to base it on his IRL experience of racing a lot of MX5's fairly recently. Seems to be a lot better than what the game gives you. Should give that a try!

Seriously, forget about Kireth, compares to a miata and drives in third person and while the car is stopped the wheel is autocentering by itself and I won't talk about he's behavior on track🤦‍♂️

@@Horneycorn I look at Hokihisho and Riccardo frezza. First one is more on Drifting, but he has a drifting real car and he looks for certain behaviors, the second one is Italian, goes deep in physics and he will also with FM8. But the best way is to tune yourself always if you have ever driven a real car "Happily" in your life, if not everything just goes out of the window 😁😁😁

It is very slightly understeer but your going to fast around the corners. Also you can tune out any understeer. Should play with wheel settings for a better experience as it's not fantastic out of the box

Well this isn't F1 lol.....these cars are twice as heavy and the tires half as wide. You have to break before you turn and let the car roll to the apex before picking up the throttle again.

Why don't this youtubers do proper settings first and drive properly before uploading videos. Leaves a bad impression of the driving with a wheel. I'm not the best driver but when you play it properly it sure doesn't look like the rubbish driving in this video. Guess he's just trying to make it entertaining.

For real! I notice a lot of that going on. You shouldn’t be giving impressions of something that’ll influence people’s decision whether or not to play a game without doing the due diligence. It actually looks like a Forza that I would like to play based off of what I’ve seen. It’ll be fun for those times when you don’t feel like the seriousness of something like iRacing or ACC

I agree. But at the same time you shouldn't have to tweak dozens of settings just to get it to not feel like hot garbage. Proper simulators are genuinely way more accessible in this regard. Every sim I have played has felt good out of the box and have way fewer FFB options to mess with, just need steering lock, gain and damper. Why the Forza devs decided to make such a mess out of the options is beyond me. I suppose it is compensating for lacking physics.

@@namesii1880 Settings is not the problem it is the lack of information and communication of what these settings do. With hundreds of cars and upgrades, with more options you could set a general feel for driving experience or dial a feel for a specific car you own or have driven. Options for settings are good, it is not the lack of physics it's actually giving you more.

game seems alright and enjoyable, of course its not even launched, but its fine. With some time will be better. I would expect some finetuning of the single player difficulty. its weird, no consistency and at lvl8 the 6 front runners are at Mad Max mode, fast but ruthless ... up until you get besides them, then they just shit themselves. Also: it gives a time at practice to achieve, and i'm 1 second off that time, but 1 second faster than the second car ... and its because of the PI of the cars and its fluctuation on the grid. I must try max PI allowed from beginning of championship so all should have max PI. I must admit that i like the leveling of the cars. maybe an rpg background, but i kind of like that i do some laps in a rivals mode, before i start a championship for first time. learn a bit the car etc.

The game is so bad it doesn't even warrant explaining why really... That said some main points. The new VIP pay to win scam that gives you double the money in game is laughable, and why the single player offline mode requires a cloud authentication and for credit hacking you get banned and if you support this thinking/method from Microsoft you deserve what's coming over the next 5 years! (Who cares if Billy plays offline alone and uses a credit cheat?) The second CP system is terrible, you finally get a car upgraded and unlocked and its next series time and you don't get to use the car you just sank hours into upgrading. It makes the game feel like backwards progress as you step into a higher series in a worse car. I found myself crossing the line saying "Thank god that's over" only to hear "Last lap" and groan. As someone who has played just about every racing game on the PC I have never felt like this. Sometimes it enters a corner and I found myself saying out loud "Would you pick a physics engine please!", such is the wayward unpredictable handing. The graphics are average at best! Some assets taken from Forza 5, a replay theatre from 1980. So for what $100 entry fee to get the VIP scam, half the game content is missing and will be another $100. This is as poor an outing as it gets. And as long as Media creators keeps kissing Microsoft's short and curlys and players believe the hype, Microsoft and the likes will continue to only innovate the way they milk you of money and convince you it's a great idea!

I don't think so. Just different that's all. I enjoy them both. I can't stand gt7 static cam even adjusted. It's horrible. I do love gt7 in vr though. Motorsport is growing on me. Sense of speed I'd fantastic.

@@Leynad778 I have a 4090 running 4K and 150 percent resolution. Everything just looks very blurry and too soft. Don't get me wrong I don't feel like it looks horrible...just not what I expected . I feel like FM7 looked better. I plan on putting a few hours in today maybe my mind will change. Trying to get the FFB dialed in too. Hopefully there's some patches and updates to that... It just feels like nothing is there. You can feel the steering but no bumps of curbs or bumps and dips in road. That's why I'm saying as a whole I'm pretty let down. At least after a quick hour or two tinkering around last night

I disagree on both. The game looks sharper than AMS2 and ACC here and the FFB is on par as well with the right settings. There is a FFB guide on Racedepartment that should help.

@@Leynad778 I'll have to see what RD has far as FFB settings. Uding CSL DD and elite V2 pedals so should be able to get something decent going. I'm just used to ACC I guess lol. ACC looks much more life like too me.
