GT7 is just more detailed visually. Forza is brighter as if the game was built from a white screen. It gives that look like an LCD edge lit panel, while GT7 looks as if it was built from a black screen, which gives that look like an OLED panel. I feel like the blacks arent black enough in Forza like someone has turn the black levels up on the monitor. Forza cars are too loud with stock exhaust. The driver turning animations are better in GT7. The driver also checks his mirrors in GT7 and also looks at a car when he's being passed. In GT7 when you upgrade your exhaust the physical appearance changes. In GT7 you have anti lag system that you can adjust to shoot flames from the exhaust on turbo cars. In Forza flames constantly shoot from the exhust even when stock. Forza has more engine upgrades, like ignition, oil, fuel, cooling systems and prochargers. GT7 doesn't have none of those that I mentioned and for me not having prochargers is a big negative ding for me. In GT7 if you have been using a car a lot it loses it's shine after a while. You can wash your car and it shows a dramatic difference. You can also change your oil in GT7. GT7 replays are way smoother than Forza and it mimics exactly what you do to a T, can't say that about Forza replays as it shows my car doing things that I didn't do with it, like doing burnouts at the starting line which I didn't do and reviving my engine to redline when I was cruising around the track around 2,000 rpms. All in all Forza has came a long way and the game is worth playing now, but I still prefer and get more satisfaction from GT7 overall.

the explication is simple: Forza was developed with the RT global illumination on but it was deactivated because it degraded the performance too much on console. The lights were not originally designed like that and were not reworked afterwards.

Yep. Default brightness setting often results in washed out picture. Its quite a bit better after changing brightness to 30-35.

@@serhiy1237 very much so. With the exception of Porsche the Germans have lost their way from a design perspective. IMO BMW’s designs peaked in the late 80’s to late 90’s. Understated luxury and performance.

Lol. Technically, GT7's car models are actually from a *generation behind* on the PS4 and they still look better than Forza's on a top spec PC, let alone on an Xbox series X. GT7 has its issues, but car models are not one of them. They're class leading, from last to current gen.

Yes, I agree. If GT7's sound weren't so muffled they would be almost perfect. Forza's sounds are way more exaggerated and sound more dramatic, but not close to real life.

@@cookedit thats the thing gt7 has a suppressed visual speed and engine sounds, which takes away from it, you need something to make up for it, for the casual gamer forza is the winner, gt7 is good but only with a sim setup as I said forza shows you what you cant feel in a basic setup...; speed, noise, g force, dips, elevation change by being over reactive....unless you have a sim setup and your seat throws you around a bit then gt7 is good or maybe with a wheel

​@cookedit When you upgrade a cars exhaust in GT7, you get different levels of aggression. Forza is exaggerated with so many of its cars. This E92 sounds horrible in Forza IMO.

@@familialgameaholics7618 I explained above why Forza chooses to be aggressive and exaggerated......, turn10 could however just make the cars sound a bit more accurate tho, while keeping the exaggerated sounds sampled in with the real sounds a bit better and authentic. Id still choose Forza due to its more entertaining nature. A sim is boring unless you have a good setup, like a fake car chassis, a big curved screen around you. G force responsive seat

Gran Turismo, while not being perfect, sounds way closer to the real thing, which is a more throaty sound. And of course the car model is better in Gran Turismo. GT's sound has the correct deep rumble, but is just missing a little in volume, but it's definitely more accurate. The uninformed automatically think louder is better and more realistic. @@cookedit Sound reproduction is extremely complex and the constantly changing environments in racing impacts the signatures considerably. This is the reason I never get caught up in the so-called realism of these simcade’s because it doesn’t exist. Both FM and GT7 do a decent job however are hardly dynamic or even real for that matter. In real world racing you actually feel the raw sound and it is nowhere near the sterile reproductions so don’t come across so judgmental.

@@blistery1875 Assetto Corsa does a better job than both these titles though, so they can definitely improve. So it's not being judgmental. It's comparing how a much smaller programming team with a much smaller budget are still able to get better results. Please know the difference. Don't be upset if your preferred title doesn't come out on top in the sound area and now there are better examples out there. We all want to see even our favorite titles and franchises improve.

Gran Turismo is better but both kinda bad. Sound is miles off, I feel like GT and Forza have both got completely detached from real world audio and need to start over. Just super synthetic. I'm quite lucky and have driven 4 or 5 different E92 M3s, even with a stock exhaust the sound is a lot more raw.

@@cookedit I think you may have trouble understanding what I said to you. There is literally no racing game that even comes close to the sound reproduction of an actual car that is racing……nothing even close! The devs have done a phenomenal job at recreating the visuals, especially FM. One of the biggest reasons for me to go to a race event is for the auditory experience. You seem to think that you are some sort of expert on how cars sound and you even like to disparage others because you think you know what you’re talking about and they don’t. Since the sounds are all inaccurate why not choose the sound you prefer?

I’m a forza guy. That gt7 looks better. But forza has performance mode that allows you to change settings from 30fps to 60fps

In this case here, I can't describe a lot about this car between both games, but I can say that the two games take the win for the S65 V8 sound. But, my theory is: GT7 sounds like a true stock S65, while FM’s sounds a little metallic. And for the model, GT7 takes it (although it's a GT Sport model, it still remains future-proof). Because the one in FM is a claimed to be a rescaled FM2 car model, so it was recently reported in the Forza Forums because it has exaggerated panel gaps around its model.

I can tell the Forza model’s one of their older ones. And the sound is more accurate in GT7. The S65 has a very unique note to it. Forza has a “meatier” and more satisfying noise, but it’s more generic, less accurate

For my usual reasons FM wins this comparison, they just take it to another level in game play. On a related note, I luv the big classy analog gauges of this generation of cars. I have a dealership loaner right now for a few hours while mine is getting an oil change and it’s nothing but digital displays. I must be “old school” because this does nothing for me.

Look at the F40 engine by pressing back in car view. Even in chase view, the F40's engine in GT7 has more detail. The tail lights easily can be seen with better details also. Again, what about Forza's 3 generation old car models with wrong dimensions still being used?! There is literally *NO CAR* in both Forza and GT7 that looks better in Forza, in any equivalent mode. None. You haven't played GT7 or are just delusional or biased. The trees are not even that important. Can you drive, paint or tune the trees, or do you stop your car during a race and admire and take photos of the trees? And Digital Foundry even showed that the road and curb textures are better in GT7.
