Hey! I need help with braking. I got my thrustmaster t128 yesterday. I'm used to braking with abs as a mobile/pc keyboard racer. In short I find it easy to brake hard and modulate the threshold going into a hairpin/heavy deceleration corner, especially with GT and open wheelers (these two classes I would love explanation on as well as for other cars). But if I apply identical pressures (and even less) in lower speed corners whilst at low speeds, I'll lock up, and I want to keep finding the limit for braking and I end up easing slightly and I cant tell if that is the limit or not, and I want to learn this to apply to abs setups because I know I can avoid abs detection for more efficiency in braking. I don't understand, it's so confusing. I had my first sim experience on gt7 at a London event's sim rig and got close to a record time (1s slower no assists no abs and that time used assists). Now I got my own budget setup. I'm officially new to the real racing experience and a total beginner realistically. Any guidance would be appreciated! 👌
@ProjectSimRacing4 күн бұрын
Hi mate, congrats on starting your sim racing journey! It sounds like you're already putting in great effort to master braking techniques. Braking without ABS can be tricky, but it’s all about feel and practice. Here are a few tips that might help: Brake Modulation: The key is to gradually reduce brake pressure as the car slows down, especially in low-speed corners. At high speeds, the tires have more grip due to downforce, but as you slow down, that grip reduces, making it easier to lock up. Trail Braking: This technique involves slowly releasing the brake as you turn into a corner. It helps keep the car stable and avoids lock-ups, especially in lower-speed corners. Calibration: If your pedals allow it, calibrate them so you get consistent feedback. Some pedals allow for adjustments to resistance, which can help you feel the braking threshold better. Practice: Use time trials to practice braking zones without pressure from AI or other players. Focus on consistency and gradually increase your braking force to find the lock-up point. Telemetry: Some sims like ACC or AC have telemetry apps that can show you how close you are to locking up. These are great for learning where the limit is. Lastly, don't get discouraged if it takes time. Braking without ABS is one of the hardest things to master in sim racing. Keep practicing, and you'll improve! 😊

No current sim gives you the feeling of driving on the edge like AC. Don’t get me started on the brilliant FFB. Love the old analog F1’s on this title. That was sick mate 👍🏻

Thank you so much mate! Really appreciate it 🙏🙌 And yeah, can't argue with you on that. AC is the king of sims in my opinion!

GT7 on PSVR2 is where its at. Feels like youre really in the car especially if you're using a motion sim racing seat and force feedback wheel with the vr headset on...Cool vid.

GT7 fanboys think PD brought the first VR in racing games 😂. This has been existing on PC sims for years and motion rigs have been a thing years before GT7 was even thought to be in development.

@@user-ol1zk3kv1d You didn't, but I've seen similar comments too often. Always "GT7 and PSVR is where it's at". You giving Sony free marketing like your lives depend on it.

@@kak8895 I'm a nobody this is a comment on a KZbin video how am I marketing for anyone..? What it sounds like to me is you're either annoyed or a hater... I respect your opinion but if you don't like Gran Turismo 7 fine but that doesn't mean you have to hate on opinions. If you're not hating then I'm sorry I took it that way. Either way you cannot deny that Gran Turismo 7 is a fun racing Sim it's definitely the best console racing sim specifically because of VR... And the reason I like to defend Gran Turismo 7 is at least it's not the price that I racing is... It's the best price you can get for the racing that you get.. I mean no disrespect to you... This is just my humble opinion so if I offended you or misinterpreted what you typed.. Then My bad. But you cannot deny that Gran Turismo 7 is a great racing game or simulator however you want to look at it.... No disrespect but please don't tell me that you're a Forza player...
