Hi. Loved your videos and it brought back memories for me. As a child I got into fossils when a friend gave me a funny looking rock he had found at the back of a nearby technical college. I asked him to show me where he found it and you could see there was more sticking out of the rock bed. I went back and forth over a week digging more and more of it up. Eventually I had a 2 metre piece of a Lepidodendron trunk. I gave it too Bolton museum. We (parents and me) visited Whitby and went fossil hunting. I still have a complete ammonite I managed to find, belemnites as well of course. I've always loved fossils and if I see and interesting rock outcrop I go and look for fossils. I'm 66 now and still enjoy the excitement of finding stuff. Love your Ichthyosaur fossil - you've done a great job of cleaning it up - fantastic. Keep up the good work, you will inspire lots of kids to go fossil hunting !

4:30 As you chipped away on the ammonite, it looked to me as though the critter fossil continued up into the rock on the right side, and possibly on the left to the other end. I don't know if you come back to that specimen in the video... It would be in pieces, of course.. Good fun, so far...!

I must say that I am completely jealous about where you live in the glorious UK (the home of my ancestors), but the fact that you are able to search for these rare prehistoric items along the beautiful seaside is tremendous. I live in New Jersey,U.S.A. (don't dislike me for that, as I am not a lunatic like so many others here who follow our former President, whom I never supported). Living in the U.S. where I am there is nothing prehistoric found here. Our soil is very sandy and we're many miles from mountain ranges where there have been fossils discovered. Keep hunting for fossils, and thank you for sharing your discoveries.

You have a lot of fossil sites in America. Maybe you are not near one of them in New Jersey. The Burgess shales are on of the most important sites in the world. And you have lots of dinosaurs and fish in California. Shark teeth can be found in Poricy Brook, Middletown, New Jersey according to my Google search. That would be worth a visit perhaps ?

They fall from the cliffs and often become lodged between boulders or stuck in sand or mud 😃

I think these guys wear their smiles on the inside. Listen closely to the lilt of their voices when they find an unexpected fossil. If my eyes were closed I would swear they were clicking up their heels! There are many peoples who don’t smile and laugh the same as we do in the states, but I have seen their joy shining out in many other ways. Those are some really wicked teeth on that ichthyosaur! I'm glad they're extinct! The oceans are dangerous enough already. My daughter and I dug fossils at the Green River formation in Wyoming one year. It was so fun! Mostly we dug small fish and water plants.
