Hey Slashterpiece! New subscriber here! Followed because of your very fun playthroughs and hope to see more! :D Just a few helpful tips if you haven't figured it out or no one in your comments has told you yet: - Lv 5 death is a battle technique that kills enemies whose levels are multiples of 5, so if your party member dies to it, their level would be 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 for example. - You had such a hard time with the stingrays because it was a back attack. When that happens, your physical attackers are switched to the backrow while mages like Vivi are switched to the front, so attacks hit them harder. Physical attackers who are now in the back can also have their damage halved or cut down even lower. For example, when Zidane was in front, he dealt 1000+ dmg as opposed to 200+ when he was in the backrow. - When characters are in trance, try to see if they have any new techniques! These are usually powerful attacks. For Zidane, his Dyne technique can really hit hard! - The moogle that was behind the wall was where you kinda thought it was! You just had to hit it a bit more haha. If you hit other parts of the area more, you'll find some minor items like potions and stuff. - If I remember correctly, you can leave one female frog and a male in each marsh. They'll breed and the frogs will respawn quicker xD That's why the genders of the frogs are displayed when you catch one! - To find items with your chocobo on the overworld, you need to go Chocobo Forest and play Chocobo Hot and Cold. You'll get clues to find items outside of the forest. Some of these items are powerful equipment! You'll also gain access to a side quest which is a huge Chocobo bonus ;)

Quina can learn lvl5 death from monster too, it work on enemy that lvl multiple of 5... You can use phoenix down on undead monster to insta kill it.. you will face a lot of undead in iifa tree.. the iifa tree boss is undead too..

Eat, eat, and eat some more. Quina can learn some serious abilities. Related, you can go up to 99 frogs. It's really tedious, but worth it...as for Kuja, just wait and watch out for spoilers in the comments :)

Ah ok, so what did you think? Only shortcoming of the game in my mind was the choice of final boss. 99 frogs takes forever….it helps to revisit the marshes between other side quests so the frogs have time to multiply and you don’t go crazy waiting. Did you manage any side quests? This game has one of the hardest optional enemies

The sky garden has an optional fight that's worse than the ruby and emerald weapons in OG 7. There's the Stiltskin side story, the "gimme ore!" guys, lots of things. But when you commented on Kuja not being from this world, I was like, ok, you're reading ahead!

I feel you, I can't stand Squall look in remaster it's not just the hair but the face too I think new squall has a little more droopy nose, original face is more squarish, for ffviii there's mod for a higher graphics in emulator not sure for steam original ffviii. Original squall face as seen in cutscene are more handsome and kinder in appearance I wish they had at least put more effort to match it 😢 and even it's a remaster the background is blurry. For this FFIX Moguri Mod is all from actual fans volunteering to add more details to everything touching up the background as well that it looks so good! Hope one day ffix gets a remake to expand on story and for more people to know about it and enjoy the story aha

Right?! Squall's remaster face did not really look like him in the cutscenes. He had a more mature looking face, instead of the boyish look. Even tho he's just a teenager, which I would've never guessed from the cutscenes 😹 Nice!
