I've been exploring that very beach and coast for decades. One thing you neglected to mention is that there is absolutely NO taking of anything from the Ano' Nuevo reserve and that means anything. They do not play around there and will ticket and fine anyone collecting rocks, fossils, herbs, souvenirs... Very informative video though I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

Sure, no collecting in state parks! If you would watch till 8:05, you would hear that pictures are all you allowed to take. Perhaps, we should be more upfront next time. Cheers and thanks for the comment!

Hello! I was wondering as the laws are relatively vague. Is it legal to excavate the bones/shark teeth found along the coast? Thanks!

Hi Nicola, it is not allowed to collect remains of vertebrates (fresh or fossilized) in California. Most of the beaches along the coast are state parks were you are not allowed to collect anything. In some places you might be able to collect rocks to a certain weight per year but you would need to make sure that specific places you want to visit fall into that category. Take pictures or videos like we do.
