There will never be another. I hear people today and they mostly tell jokes I heard when I was in Jr. high school. They have to put profanity in the joke and it just ruins the joke. The most important part of a joke is imagination.
My Dad was a recovering alcoholic (40 years sober) and absolutely loved Foster Brooks. Good memories.

Hard to believe Foster Brooks has been gone for almost 19 years. I've loved watching him ever since I was a teenager (I'm nearly 70 now). For me, he was the funniest comic and loved seeing him on the Dean Martin Show.

It gets better everytime I hear Foster, it gets funnier😂 I’m left with a deeper understanding of his timing, intonation and brilliance of his lyrics. The older he became, the better the richness and quality of his delivery🌹 He lived in Encino California with his wife and two daughters, and performed until he was 86, and died in his home at 89, surrounded by his wife and daughters. RIP dear foster😢 and thanks for the laughter you brought into this world... We need more Fosters in this humorless world of today🌹

You are so right. There is an empty gap where Fosters' humor was. My Grandfather had met him years ago, & one of my Grandfathers' saying was that if you couldn't express yourself without cussing, you were showing your ignorance. I try to live by that motto, & Foster was a shining example of that.

Foster Brooks was an absolute Comedic Genius. To soberly mimic the mannerisms and speech pathology of the inebriated so accurately was an absolute masterpiece. Today’s comedians couldn’t get on the same stage as Mr. Brooks. I truly miss this gentile .

First time i saw him was on Johnny Carson. He was introduced as NBCs program director to talk about the changes to NBCs line up. He started off perfectly fine and then he burped and i thought "is this guy drunk?" Of course Carson looked shocked. Brooks kept going slurring his words and such. I laughed so hard He was one of a kind

When I was a teen I heard Foster Brooks on TV being interviewed. He used to go to bars so he could see how drunks acted. He never drank alcohol.but does a GREAT drunk.

Doberman & Parrot story was my favourite +seeing familiar faces in the audience was cool... also Foster always had impeccable timing too.. he was probably the only ones I knew who made Dean&Sammy as much as Don made Frank. he ruled the 60-80s alongside Rickles.
