You have 66k subscribers and every video you get about 50k views - which means anyone who comes across your channel and subscribes pretty much watches every video you make (myself included). That is the best sign of a channel in my opinion. I’ve never seen anyone do this!!

That location truly would be awesome (with Gavin Hardcastle) if the light had popped through.. the shot at 19:20.. curious to see how it would be flipped to B&W and punch the dark/light contrast. i would trek as you equipment mule just to get up to that first location.. what a spot.. kudos to Brent for sharing it..

Woooaah!! Now that is a location!! Reminds me of standing on Cadair Idris last January!It was absolutely freezing! Well that is a bit of an understatement! Trying to get those waterproofs on looked like a bit of a challenge on the edge of the mountain! 😬 This was a great video. Loved the images, expecially with some of the light! What a shot Gav! Looks like you both froze up there but that's all part of the fun of being a landscape photographer! Keep up the great work! Look forward to the next adventure!

Rituals before going out shooting? Yeah and perhaps you should pass this one on to Adam, I make sure I do a poo before leaving home. Nothing worse then being all backed up hiking up a mountain or even worse, on a public beach (no trees to hide behind). Oh and also double checking my bag for spare batteries (even though I don't shoot with those Sony battery munchers). Of cause none of that helps the light but the poo does make me feel lighter. Better luck next time Gav even though I think your a lucky bugger to be able to visit these awesome locations.

Yeah, another fototripper video 😍. Gavin, 12:10, a wider lens? The 23 mm x 0.78 = 17.94 ≈ 18 mm Full Frame "negative" crop equivalent. What has been your widest Sony? Was it the 16-35, wasn't it? If so, that's not that far apart. Otherwise you may do it like Brent: make a panorama 😄🤗. Unfortunately I'm kinda locked down here in Europe, hanging out with Brent would be perfect to me, you had aside "the orange" dot another one 😄😄😄
@fototripper3 жыл бұрын
Well you'll see in the next video when I shoot with the Sony. There are no such problems as hot having enough...girth.
@Martin-nu6ym3 жыл бұрын
Doesn't the native aspect ratio between the Fuji GFX system and full frame make the long end less wide? So, don't you get more height but less width but still get 18mm?
@fototripper3 жыл бұрын
@@Martin-nu6ym Correct.
@rolandrick3 жыл бұрын
@@Martin-nu6ym Yes, you're exactly right. But imagine you are a lens. You projection circle will always be a projection circle. So, everything you get on a full frame sensor is a little bit more cropped. So, that factor 0.78 is related to the area the sensor covers, that's a little bit of cheating if it comes to the "negative crop" at the wide side 😇. Brent's solution is to use a Canon TS-E (can't remember which one) and afai can remember (many fototrippers videos back) the Fotodiox EF-GFX Fusion Smart AF Adapter, I do the same on my Z7 with the Fotodiox EF-Z Pro Fusion Adapter using the TS-E 24 mm and stitch in post. Google for "gf mount lens roadmap", that guides you to exactly that page, there's a GF 20-35 coming in 2022 and also a tilt shift announced for 2023
@rolandrick3 жыл бұрын
@@Martin-nu6ym PS, the GFX as well as the Hasselblad X System are not true Medium Format sensors, it's kinda baby MF and has 43.8 × 32.9 mm size whereas true MF sensors such as the Hasselblad H System or the PhaseOne XF IQ4 have a "true" MF size of 53.4 x 40 mm. For the money you spend on the last two with a few lenses you easily may also buy a house. 🤪

Gavin, I enjoyed this video of some epic scenery! Glad you didn't freeze (I wonder what the lovely Amanda was doing to keep warm, as she seems to get cold easily). I think Brent was wise to pass on your free prostate exam services, but I am sure you two are still close friends even though he refused your generous offer...after all what are friends for? Question for you: How does Brent find all of these remote locations with tremendous, grand views...was he a mountain guide, or alpinist in a former life? He seems to always find these fantastic out of the way locations!
