What a truly gorgeous property! It's like a cottage, I could just move in and live there forever! (it's a lot less mouldy and damp than my own cottage was!) Everything about it was fantastic! The beautiful carpentry throughout, beautiful unexpected rooms and that secret bookcase door 😍 The photos went back from around the 1990s to the early twentieth century so four generations of family. That's why it's so sad to see the place empty and yet it still felt homely, cosy and welcoming. What a truly amazing unexpected find 😍❤️❤️

The thing in the attic you didn't know what was is a hanging planter.The brown part was shredded woven coconut husk.
@ironicallyvague12653 жыл бұрын
Yep - the idea is the husk material doesn't rot & drains the water away from the potted plant you place on top

Definitely English owners. English books, English stamps, Carol & Jerry had a dog called Geordie, and at 06:28 you can see next to the coffee pot a ceramic coffee jar with the Marks & Spencer’s ‘Harvest’ design. My Mum had those in the 90s! Cool video!

Hi there, dear friends from super team Explomo, thank you for sharing this extraordinary night explore in that peculiar farm house somewhere in France. - It was fascinating following you through these mostly empty rooms in the house. - I had the impression, when seeing the architectural details and the walls as well as other parts inside this house, the location could easily be renovated again and later reused for living, because there were only very few minor traces of decay and mould visible, which might be easily removed. - Of course the bookshelf opening to a hidden bathroom was really an unexpected surprise. - Strange, but very fascinating! I also liked the bar area upstairs with the armchairs and bookcases, looking somehow still very inviting and cozy. - Very timecapsule like! - That was such a pleasant, interesting and fascinating explore, which I enjoyed very much watching. Stay safe, peace and much love from Switzerland. - Lots of blessings and kindest regards.

I loved Carol & Jerry’s house! Was sooo pristine & inviting!!! I loved all of the wooden furniture left behind! Sad that they didn’t take their personal pictures 😞 I loved the driveway entryway, the little shed, in which she may have had a shop & sold things! It seems that most of the common houses in those countries have low ceilings, narrow & low doorways! No wheelchair would ever fit through them! Not to mention, most places have internal stairs! Handicapped unfriendly!!! It looks like, in the secret bathroom, that they wanted a sunken tub, so they raised the floor to get it😳 Interesting behind bookcase though 😂 I got a friendly, warm feeling about this place! Loved the beams, built ins & fireplaces! Such a quaint little cottage! Thank you Remon & Maureno for sharing this wonderful adventure with us! I loved it ❤️

2:00 The Tudor gate ways were used in the late 1940s mostly, you can see them popping up in Hollywood with the Tudor homes of Movie Stars. They used the stone pillars for several reasons. It kept large vehicles from entering the property, it could hold a gate to keep people out, it helped people locate the home from a rural location easier. 6:20 This looks like it was not a main kitchen, Are you sure you were in the main house? There is no refrigerator or dinner service plates. Did you look in the drawers? This seems like it was a cottage off the main house, a place to entertain guests. There are so very special pieces here, there are 2 Wedgewood plates to the right, that green and gold vase is probably early 1900s Venetian by design.The glass stemware on the tray is all "hardy" crystal, It seems to be geared more to male usage, none of it is of dainty design. There is no "Fine China" hahaha 9:20 Book Shelf Doors were sold a lot in the early 1970s as novel interior decorating of the rich. A powder room/bathroom was considered an embarrassment to be off of a main room. So it looks like it is being disguised and made a novelty probably because it was up against the side of the kitchen it caused less issues in putting in plumbing. They also probably dropped the tub to make it low enough to have it drain properly. 12:00 This room/area reminds me of so many 1900s chalets and in the movies in the 1930s recreations of them also. But it is decorated with masculine pieces, nothing left is delicate of feminine. makes me wonder if it had become more like a "hunting cottage" for the guys 13:00 That style of the smaller albums were sold in 1980s, The bigger album above is more 1970s or earlier because it has those sticky pages the ruin the pictures. I don't know when pictures were put in I LOVE LOVE LOVE wood also, my son loved restoring homes and items back to their original state of wood. At his funeral one man Talbert had worked on his house said he had thought the wood would never look the same but my son did a perfect for him and the man was very proud of his 150 year old home and all of its wood and no one could tell what was old and what was new. 13:45 That picture was taken in 1930s by the style of her hair and clothes. I find it really odd that all of the daughters pictures were left behind. It is really strange!! It is creepy strange because the photo albums were of the daughter too and they were left behind??? 18:00 It was the 1940s that they created their own home bars to entertain friends and guests, It means the man had friends who often came by to visit and spend time. Later it could have been changed to a cigar lounge, home theater or our current Man Cave. It has a throw back feel to "Cheers" show if it was filmed in 1940s hhahaha The sofa's and seats were 1940s decor 18:70 OMFG That is not just a picture it is cigarette cards by John Player from 1927 they were his first issue of birds put on cigarette cards. WOW All I can think of now is $$$$$ they have no idea what they left behind hahaha 21:30 Croquet set missing some parts. I do not think this is a farmers home, it looks too much like a place of leisure, more like a get away. The books are not educational books they are novels etc This house is so male decorated but because the ceilings were so low and the walls were so thick it is making me question the year the house was actually built. People were shorter back in the 1600s- 1700s but the thick walls make me think it could have been a complete makeover conversion at some point. I also wonder if this house was used for summer use or hunting season because it just is not practical, it is missing so much to make it useful for daily living. lol That is just my assumption. I wonder if there was a bigger house on the property and this was just the mother in law suite or servants quarters? LOL you created more questions than answers this time hahaha. Great find! I bet there is a main house nearby. Might be worth checking into!

Not cricket, croquet! I love that house! Thank you for the video! I saw those beer taps for beer, but it's a mystery to me where they stored the refrigerated kegs for the beer? As a child we used to play shuffleboard as well. If you see a triangle w/numbers in squares on it, that is a shuffleboard court. There is a flat disc that you push w/a long pole & that is how you play shuffleboard, mostly you will only see those courts in very old places.

It has coconut lining to hold the dirt n depending what you plant will need frequent watering as it dries out quickly. Very popular in the US. What i cant believe is there's no refrigerator or cold storage of any kind, like a cellar. Mabe it got moved out too n possibly was kept in the eating area?
