I'm longing so much for a beach combing walk, along such a giving beach as this. Loved the little pieces of fossilised curios too. Another thing which is on my list of things to go do. Its been a very long time since we have had a holiday of any kind. This girl and her man are off exploring, just as soon as I can get the go ahead. Can't wait. Thanks for the virtual trip to the beach ladies...i could taste the sea spray and the wind in my face...well almost. What beautiful finds. X P.s. that folded piece of white and pink glass, most certainly looked like a top set of...dare I say...Dragon teeth. 😄 Ok, grandads lost top set sneezed into the see while swimming...more like it. 😄🤣

Your editing is amazing too! Love the glimpses of nature and musical interludes. Sorry to hear about the white pea hen going lost. The schwoos are much loved by so many of us who watch in every week. @@NorthernMudlarks Hello Alex and Gail. Alex, I have to say that when the time is right, you're going to be an amazing mother. I can tell [1] by the way you treat and interact with Cecilia; you talk to her, not down to her and you're so kind to encourage her, and [2] you've got a great role model for your own mother. I wish I could have had a relationship with my late mother that was even half as good as yours and your mum's relationship is. Greetings from a friend in North Carolina. I may have to try beachcombing along our coastline since I live only about a 45 minute drive away from the Atlantic Ocean. I've always enjoyed trips to the beach, but woe is me if I forget to wear sunblock; I turn into a steamed red lobster!

Another great job ladies! I don't see how a day could get any better picking up sea glass , slag, rocks, and what ever else that happens to catch your eye it don't get no better than that! The two pieces I liked the best that you two found ( I don't think you brought either one of them home ) was the effigy and the fossil that looked like a worm or something. Keep up the great work I'm looking forward to seeing the next adventure! I love the accent could listen to y'all talk all day!

I believe the piece of metal at 7:47 is actually a stick-on nose wire for a face mask, though I could be wrong. Looks like it’s still got the glue on one side. If it’s pretty easy to bend and has glue on one side, I’m guessing that’s it!

That is definitely iron slag, most pieces are normally 'holy' from gassy bubbles. It's highly sought after here in Northern Michigan, as people make jewelry and home decor etc with it. We call it "Leland Blue" among the community.. for finding it specifically in the town of Leland(pronounced: Lee-land). Very rarely may someone find large pieces like you have, most are teeny tiny pebbles, just because its been over picked at the beach.

I FOUND THIS QUOTE ON THE INTERNET TO EXPLAIN IRRIDESCENCE: ". . . despite the undeniable talents of ancient glassmakers, this particular effect was not intentional or even achieved during production. In fact, iridescence found in ancient glass is a result of weathering of its surface caused by burial. The weathering process itself depends largely on the burial conditions such as heat, humidity and type of soil, although the chemistry of the glass, determined by the purity of raw materials and their compositional ratio, also plays a part. The iridescence is produced when alkalis, or soluble salts, are leached from the buried glass by slightly acidic water present in the soil. This in turn causes the formation of very fine layers which can delaminate or even flake off creating a prism effect."

WOW! This was the best video! I almost felt like I was actually there! I love the beach, but I've never seen anything like these! I think the "barnacles" in the dragon's egg are actually millefiori, meaning "thousand flowers". They are still used in glass making. Tiny glass flowers which are put inside other glass forms, such as paper weights. They are also used in making lampworked beads. Or used in glass fusing. I believe your dragon's egg was probably a failed attempt to make a paperweight with millefiori. Nevertheless, it is still an amazing treasure! Here's a video about millefiori: kzbin.info/www/bejne/moLakKyLqLmJiZI Another interesting video about millefiori: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJLZhnqIgs5jh6c

The multies and the dragon skins...omg...the deep green colors and ...and the fossil! Thistles are my favorite wild plants...I used to draw fantasy thistles all the time. So many amazing pieces. I was absolutely wanting to jump through the phone and get some dragon eggs and other agates.

Some lovely finds. I think the green glass with the ' barnacle' appearance might be millefiore glass x

P.S. Wish I could offer you some tips on focusing - seems to take a while to get in focus. Also, as you walk along the beach, it's a bit dizzying for me!

Really enjoy your captivating videos and genuinely enthusiastic presentation. Keep up the great work, although its not really work when one loves the subject matter as much as you obviously do!

From my knowledge of bottle making- when they switched batches of colors- like amber to aqua- it would create amber swirls in the glass- same with other color batch changes- swirls are sought after by collectors- 😎🇺🇸👍

You are so lucky and fortunate to find such beautiful treasures on your beaches, I live near Lake Michigan and the only thing we find on our beaches is trash and litter😒 I’ve got a lovely collection of plastic pieces I picked up
