FLEA MARKET SHOPPING VLOG for ANTIQUES & VINTAGE to RESELL on EBAY and in Person!
The giant Springfield Antique Extravaganza is more than a mere flea market, but we're picking it for things marked at flea market prices! We start with a few moments from a meet-and-greet that kicked off our busy Saturday, we get to meet some great viewers and other KZbin channel creators...but then it's back to the booth for a full day's selling! We barely have time to film the neighbors' spaces.
That's why Sunday morning, I leave my booth closed so I can try to restock! Sales have been brisk, and I'm a motivated shopper...but with so many KZbinrs shopping this show, I'm going to need a strategy to find any hidden bargains. I start at a friend's booth outside, picking a silhouette tray, a great tooled leather purse and some more fun vintage; but my m.o. is to go inside, where the higher end dealers who didn't benefit from the perfect outdoor show weather are hungry for sales!
Who says there's no bargains at antique shows? We turn up a Bimini Werkstatte vase for just $12 (retail value $45-65), a pile of fun 1910s-30s paper ephemera for $1/each and some original black light posters that were so good, I'm saving them to debut in tonight's Thrift Battle finale (versus Kat the Nurse Flipper, 9 pm eastern on the channel ‪@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter‬ ). A $50 cafe plate for $10 in another booth shows us that we're finding fresh fields to pick, even on Sunday after three days selling! We also get a great lesson about cast iron from friends/viewers who sell at this show.
We sure find a lot of other fun things to explore at this giant antique extravaganza, including:
1930s washing machine, Cub Cadet sign, galvanized laundry tub, AMF pedal car, 1950s metal porch rocker, modernist metal love seat, Ty Cobb baseball bat, Johnny Bench baseball bat, signed Pete Rose baseball bat, orrery, early Apple computer, JumboTron light bar, Igloo galvanized cooler, 1910s-1950s restaurant ware, hassock fan, Pilgrim Glass snail and cat, Nippon vase and candle holders, Rainbow Glass decanters, Fly Gone device, Olympia Lunar Lamp, black rotary phone, band castrator, McCoy window vase with bird, cast iron standing bird cage, animatronic 1930s bear girl, Victorian paisley shawl, basket and fan 1930s quilts, Tea Leaf ironstone, handle-less 1840s coffee cup, Umanoff bar, Martz lamps, brutalist metal Tom Green light fixture, day-glo and black light posters, 1910s leather advertising tack for horse parades, 1920s parts cabinet, silk kimono, yellow birds of happiness, circa 1900 glass cordial set in mushroom glass holder, 1930s brown deco Kodak box camera, Ben Cooper Halloween masks, small table top loom, Carling Beer constables tray and bar sign, Hellenic 1960s tumblers, pre-1910 cast iron with gate marks, Lodge/Wagner/Griswold cast iron, Occupied Japan lighter, 1960s kewpies, Van Briggle "heart" pitcher, etc.

Hello George, Your videos are amazing. I always learn so many new things from you. It was awesome to hear (the horse purse) vendor telling you how much she’s improved the way she sells because of watching you. I could hear the joy in your heart as I listened to your conversation with her. And I admire how generous you are with your knowledge of things and how you share all the new information other sellers share with you. But, mostly, I admire how compassionate you are for all people… living and deceased. You are a wonderful addition to the KZbin family. ❤

George thanks again for an extremely entertaining and informative video. I love the way you enhance other members of the antique trade community. is amazing how we are able to sense the honest and sincere admiration you guys have for each other. All of you make us feel like family. I guess when you dedicate yourself to accumulate so much knowledge about the history of this pieces you also accumulate the humanity they represent, the people, the ages, the history, and their beauty is what fascinate us so much. And you do it so so well. we can feel how much you enjoy it. You remind me of that phrase, "like a kid in a candy store". The work you do for the antiques community is outstanding. I've always had high interest for antiques but the way you manage to make us feel like if we were right there with you make us absolutely love them. Knowledge is an art and in the process of applying this specific one you are a master. And... that's what happens when you love what you do. Again, thank you so much!!!

Good evening, George! $25.00 seemed like a steal on that porch rocker. The Vincent Price photo, in the old frame, was cool. Loved that Coralene decanter set! I liked all of that cast iron! That guy certainly knew his cast iron, too. Most interesting! That heavily carved table was super nice! It looked like you were having a blast there. Lots of really nice items. Thanks for the take-along!!!

Streaks in your world have been "The item of the day" in my world. Anyone who's shopped with me over the years knows the game. For the longest time, the chrome penguin ice bucket was 'it'! Last Sunday, the 2nd at Alameda it was typewriters (albeit, high priced ones.) Except one vendor. His was $10! It needed some "love" that I was unable to give it. It didn't come home with me.

Leather goods like your horse head purse should be plentiful in Cadiz and lake areas. The prisoners in Eddyville prison made those for spending money for years.
