What are you painting on? Is it some special hard paper or a canvas like for oil or acrylic paintings?

I use 200 lb. coldpressed (medium texture) watercolour paper made by Waterford or TH Saunders. Other good papers are Arches and Winsor-Newton.

What is the white you use?

the white paint I used in this demo is called "Dr. Martin's bleedproof white". It is a dense pigment originally used for retouching black and white photos. Any watercolor white such as Chinese white, or designer color white will work fine.

Если уж вы пишете акварелью, то не используйте белила. Акварель потому и считается сложной, что нет в нет белил и нет права на ошибку. А в остальном отличный урок!
