English: Hello everyone, in this video, I use a lot of terms like 'bounce', 'flex', and 'spring'... I'll give you the most common understanding of these terms, but keep in mind that for these words, there are no official/strict definition. Only the term 'flex' has a widely accepted definition. ----------------------------------------------------------- English: -Flex: describe how the nib has the tines spreading to have line variation. Higher nib flex involves higher line width variation. This term is used since a long to describe line variation (width of the line), even if this definition is in reality completely abusive (a nib which can have up and down movement but with poor thickness variation is not a flex nib with this definition). -Spring: in french could be translated by "ressort". Could be defined partly as the snap back; 'spring' could be described how strongly the nib resist to down/up movement and how the nib answers to snap back to original position. -Snapback: it is part of the spring: this is the "spring" part after having push down with the nib up. We could say this is the "answer" of the nib after having applied some strength on the nib. -Bounce: characterizing how the nib moves up/down (without the tines spread / line variation notion). Often used to describe the nib movement during a normal writing but not only. A nib can be bouncy with poor line variation, poor flex (ex/ pineider quill nib). Or a nib can be poorly bouncy with good line variation (ex/ noodler's ahab). -Soft: is bouncy but with the notion it has poor line width variation. Comments: Flex and snap back word definitions are now acknowledged by almost all. For other words, even if some doesn't use these wording definitions, these definitions are the most commonly used, but: it remains completely arbitrary/subjective.

Many thanks for this well done and informative video. I wish I easily could get hold of that Turbo Flex nib,,,, Fantastic results and I can easily follow your conclusions, very well balanced and fair comments about all nibs. (I already can see Vincenzo hovering now over that Turbo Flexer...) The J 16 is on my list as soon at it becomes available on A-L-i at the same reasonable price of USD 55 (as recently sold on Amazon), I'll pull the trigger. And can do a permanent swap of one of my recently bought Titanium Flex nibs. The other Flexer will find its new home in a Vazir Cleo, which has been ordered a few days ago. So right now I'm nearly set, only the Pilot Justus 95 hunt isn't over, as I have to wait for my sons trip to Tokyo in January. Depending on the prices offered in some stores there, by mid of January 2025 I'll know more.

For the TurboFlex, even in Europe, today this is very difficult to get this nib .... This is a nice idea to have a Kanwrite Ti nib (As mentioned under your video, the Kanwrite Ti Flex nibs you have shown are really underrated, whereas this is really a good choice to replace a Jowo or Bock nib). You know ? you mentioned Vazir, and it was a long time I didn't visit their website and wow, they really have grow up ! I have 1 model from them but it seems to me they have progressed a lot since ! Thank you for your comment !

Thank you for what is a very comprehensive review. That hammered finish on the nib is very nice. I did immediately think of the hammered version of the Majohn pen. Do you have an engineering background? Your diagrams of the nib tipping are very interesting.
