I get a little sick when I think of all the fountain pens that were still floating around in random drawers in my childhood, pens that belonged to my grandparents, and even my parents in the 1960’s. All of them gone, thrown in the trash, I suppose. I don’t know if any would have been valuable today, but I do remember some of them were celluloid.

Beautiful writing. I could watch this for hours. I just purchased a small Wahl, No. 2 pen. Haven't received yet. I know I'll need to practice, practice, practice but I don't think i'll ever be able to write as nice as you.

I completely agree eyedropper fountain pens sound really convenient and easy ink bottles come with a eyedropper lid Ive seen although it might only be Indian ink which is not for fountain pens vintage flex fountain pens is how all fountain pens should be for writing and companies need to start making them like the vintage flex fountain pens as there is an astoundingly ginormous community who will only write with vintage flex fountain pens and it all comes down to how they write📜🖋️🕰️I wonder when companies will listen to there customers and make more.

Thanks for sharing another lovely video about vintage pens :) Watching you write is really hypnotic and relaxing. I was gifted with a Waterman flex pen before but I was too young to figure out how to write with it. I'm in awe at the deft way you handle flex pens, so am going to try to give flex pens another try. And I also love the "My Fair Lady" movie musical. I was sorely disappointed when I discovered Hepburn didn't do the singing parts though, lol!

They dubbed in Marni Nixon for the singing parts in “My Fair Lady”. But in the movie, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” it was Audrey who definitely sang “Moon River”. Not sure tho if she also played the guitar or if they dubbed that in tho :)

I love Mabie Swans. I am very addicted to collect pens and I have a small collection and all my nibs are different. Hard fine to soft medium. Still, I am looking for a wet noodle super soft pen to add to my collection, I have some Watermans and Wahl hard fine, I like to add one Wahl super soft pen too. I like your vintage Mont Blanc. It is beautiful and of course, your writing and penmanship is very elegant. I like it. I am waiting for a Watermans PINK NIB BOUGHT at a VERY REASONABLE price, it is going to be for a waterman 52 pen that I am waiting to upgrade with this nib. I love all your journaling and watercolor touch and drawing.

I have just acquired 2 exquisite vintage pens from 1929. A Mabie Todd Swan and a Wahl Eversharp Gold Seal Black & White Celluloid with a fine flex nib. They’re both in amazing condition. I’m using the Wahl to take an online calligraphy course. I’ve yet to ink up the Swan. OT: your handwriting is to die for. You said that writing has been an obsession since childhood. What resources or tutorials do you recommend someone like me that wants to vastly improve their handwriting? Thanks Alicia!

Team Fish oh man, those are some wonderful pens you’ve just received! I bet they are glorious. I unfortunately don’t really have much by way of penmanship resources. Perhaps a good starting place would be to look up the Spencerian method. It’s a very elegant script. I just write a lot, a lot, a lot, haha.

@@adventuredenali I'm taking Becca Courtice's course called "Show Me Your Drills". She only offers the course a few times a year. It's a free month long semester that began last week. She's "The Happy Ever Crafter" here on YT. She has tons of videos that you can just follow along and learn on your own. This isn't the old fashioned "pointed pen" style of calligraphy; but Modern Calligraphy using brush pens. I'm doing the drills in three disciplines though...the Tombow Dual Brushes (large pen), The Tombow Fudenosuke (small pen) and the more traditional way using my Wahl Eversharp Flex Pen. sorry if i have got your hopes up but i do not know much about that. i am equally curious and am in the same situation. i know there is a cleaning liquid she’s used in a video in a diluted concentration. the lady patricia i got is my first fountain pen and i am so excited about it! great question
