No one has Patrick's edge quality or astounding ability to convey the concept of "less is more". His free program at this year's Four Continents was sheer genius. I hope that he uses this program for the 2018 Olympics and flies under the radar to the gold medal.

There isn't anything flashy at all about Patrick's skating. His skating skills, posture, edge quality are magnificent & the choreography is subtle, understated but powerful. Just sublime & it doesnt hurt to have a pair of quads and triple axels😅

I've been looking for this performance. One of his best ever and the whole choreography used in this routine is just so good and filled with small easy movements that he elevates to superior quality. Thanks for posting this one. I gotta save this somehow

If he would have skated like this at the 2018 Olympics, he should have been at the podium. Nevertheless, I am still so proud of Patrick Chan for the honor he has brought to Canada in figure skating. I wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Sadly not, his PB was here and it's 203. Unless he managed a 103 SP score he wouldn't have podiumed.

How come he never got the Olympics gold, i mean in single one.. look at he goes. You just can understand this sport is not just about the quad jumps!!! It is joy to watch.. and the music? If he got the 4S fully consistent, and was able to do it in the SP he would have been contender for 2018 Olympic gold. He needed a better jump coach to work with him. Even if he just stuck to this layout + a 4S instead of a 3S, and had the exact same program

A few skater could interpret Chopin as wonderfully as Patrick and Yuzuru. This FP and Yuzuru's Ballade No1. were the summit of great skating skills ... before figure skating changed to "forget about the skating skills and artistry, tell me how many quads can you jump?" for both men and women. I respect his dedication to the sport and not chosing to cheat his jumps to get more scores.

The choreography and interpretation for the first part don't seem to match the music. There was so much power in the music but the movements were just beginning to warm up.

The costume sucks. What in the world are the sparkles for - you can't really see them - better to even have black velvet or black sequins - there is subtle and there is useless this outfit is useless. Such detail cannot be seen or appreciated.
