I live with PTSD. I have 6 ferrets. They keep me entertained and as the narrator said, you can't be sad when you're around these little guys who are always happy. I take mine with me when I run errands. Since I have 6, they take turns. My ferrets have their own bedroom. It has a pair of Ferret Nation cages zip tied together, but the doors are always open. In their room they have cat trees, PVC pipe and flexible duct hose. This allows them to run, climb and play. Each day they join me in the living room where I have even more toys. I also sit on the floor and play with them.

If you found a ferret, it probably got sneaky and snuck out of their home... the owner may be worried sick about their baby being lost. I know I had one sneak outside in the past, and my neighbor knew I had ferrets and returned him home. They are so sneaky, a crack in the window, ac ducts, the door slightly opened they will escape. So if you truly found this ferret, I hope you help find its way home... 🙏❤

As one ferret owner to another: I highly advise finding a vet and doing regular checkups. Not only because of where they came from, but ferrets are unfortunately notorious for having many severe health issues. I'm sure you've done some research since, as this video is now 3 months old, but this is probably the biggest thing I'd stress to any new ferret owner. It's certainly going to have a LOT of learning experiences no matter how prepared you feel you are, but so long as you're caring for them the best way you can, they're amazing little guys.

I agree ferrets are great for depression. I've rescued 13. They are a lot of work and money. Please do research and understand they need exotic vers (expensive) , prone to illness,(expensive), cannot survive in wild. Only ferrets in USA are black foot ferrets and im not sure onendanger list still. Their food is expensive if high quality, which cuts down the smell and decreases chances of certain dieases. With that, I'm ferret crazy,love their back war dances, stealing anything the want and stashing it. Ferrets are addicting ❤❤❤.

Go figure a good diet can result in healthy poops lol Love your vid and how you rescued them! I rescued 3 a few months ago and they are my whole life now! Enthralled to have them in my life! We are all bonded, the excitement they show when I greet them melts me completely. Like my dog or my cats. Okay, maybe more excited than my cats 😂 P.S. To those wanting ferrets, don’t buy from a pet store. There are so many needing re-homed. That also makes buying the best cage Midwest’s “Ferret Nation Cage”, more tangible as the cost is 3x less per ferret in adoption. Trust me, you don’t want any other cage for them. They must have at least 4-6 hours of free roam time outside the cage. Just a thought for the lovers out there 🥰

@MAJICB0B6 ай бұрын
If you get ferrets definitely make sure you do some research first, and try to prepare before bringing them home. I HIGHLY recommend the Ferret Nation Cage as shown in this video. It's sturdy, spacious, and it has vertical bars so that they can't climb or bite on the cage and hurt themselves. Find a Vet that is willing to take Ferrets, as they are classified as exotic animals. Ferrets are absolutely loaded with health problems that develop as they age, so regular checkups with a great vet is HIGHLY advised. Also when it comes to vet bills, always be prepared to have an Emergency vet that takes exotics as well. I can't count how many times I've needed to use one because either one of my Ferrets has had their medical episodes ramp out overnight or even on a holiday. It's extraordinarily expensive to keep ferrets, but trust me when I say I don't regret a single penny I've spent on them. They're amazing, they're fun, and they're just as loyal as any cat or dog.

Another tip which may be of use, if you live anywhere where moles are a problem - collect and sell (or give away to neighbours) their scat. Apparently it puts the fear of God into burrowing rodents, and they move away.

You should think about getting some lengths of 4" or 6" diameter flexible ducting (plastic, not metal) - the stuff used for extractor fans, tumble driers etc. Ferrets love to run through it - it mimics their natural hunting habitat of burrowing animals. Don't know what you have in the way of outdoor space, but if you do have a yard you could put up a semi-permanent (seasonal?) run, with junctions, dead-ends (which change, to keep them challenged). You can make them work for their food (bit of chicken at one end, ferret at the other), which is good.

@@KiddsKritters @KiddsKritters > I have some tunnels and they love them! So there was a building site, with coils of, and partially installed, flexible drainage pipe, electrical conduit etc. Some local wild ferrets found it, and were having a great time chasing each other around the pipes. > Two of my three German shepherds are outside during the day and I am very > hesitant about them being near each other when I can’t keep my eyes on them. @@KiddsKritters That may also help: 1. As far as I know, when a small animal dies, his body gets very cold in no time. 2. For ferrets when they are alive and sleeping, it's barely seen, but if you look closely, their chest from the breeding is moving up and down. Also some ferrets snore😅. 3. If the ferret is old and weak, you can always put a little mirror close to their noses; this way, you will be able to see if he is alive and breathing.

@@KiddsKritters I saw that comment too, but dipping the feet in cold water will stress the ferret and make him feel unsafe in his cage or bed. Where he sleeps and rests, he needs to feel that this is his "safe place" and that nothing will happen to him there, and no one will abruptly wake him up from his deep sleep or harm him. Otherwise, he will always be stressed and will be afraid to truly relax and sleep in peace.
