I have the same lathe and the same for jaw chuck. I couldn't find an adapter to fit the chuck to the machine and was planning to build one, but your solution is more easy. Did you have any problems with this setup? If not I will try it also.

There were no problems. Just measure exactly position of new bores. I used simply a same size three holes collet chuck placed at for jaw chuck and transfer punch... :-)
