I agree, I was so impressed with each one I met at Blackstone Clydes! Thanks for watching. 😊 I rode an Arabian for a "ride and tie" race demonstration early on in my Quest, but I am planning to feature the breed in a longer episode as well. First horse I sat on was a clydie named Sally at 6 months old. I grew up doing stuff with her for such a long time. She would put her head right down so I could fumble around putting her bridle on and her working collar. She was the first horse I ever fell off. There were I think 5 of us kids on her. The one on her rump slid and we all fell off. She just tuned her head and looked at us " like what are you all doing there" . I am 100% positive that she is where my love of horses has come from. They are truly the gentle giants of the horse world

Hi Lisa, First of all your videos are really amazing and heart warming and secondly, I don’t know if you ever heard about Indian Marwari horses or not , if you not then you must check out Marwari stallion, they are famous for their height, beauty, and specially ears. Their ears can turn 180 degrees and when both the ears turn inwards , they form heart shape because the tip of the ears are little curly. They look beautiful.

The first time I saw the Budweiser Clydesdales I was HOOKED. And the first time I sat on a pony in one of those pony walkers where there are 5 or 6 and they walk around and around, I was completely in love and knew I had to have a horse. I've had 7 horses in my life, unfortunately none were a Clyde or any type of draft horse. Now I'm 65 and, really shouldn't ride anymore, age and old injuries keep my feet on the ground. But I would NEVER give up the chance to ride a Clyde or any draft just once.

When my dear old Dad was growing up on a farm in Scotland they didn't have a tractor until after the war (WWII) and used teams of Clydesdale's, I have some great old photo's of him and his brothers posing with them. Clydesdales are the most beautiful horses. My Grandad was brought up using working Clydesdales in the North East of Scotland. He still had a pale, almost white Clydesdale called Donald which he used for forestry work. Donald was usually in a field behind my Grandparents cottage, he always ran over to me when I called his name, he liked nibbling my hair, many happy times with old Donald.

I have never been fortunate enough to ride a Clydesdale, but my favorite thing about them is attached to one of my favorite memories. My parents took me for my first trip to the New York State Fair when I was six. The Budweiser Clydesdales were there as featured guests. Those horses had hooves bigger than my face, but were gentle enough to let a strange little kid pet them!

My first horse ride was on my grandfather’s Clydesdales. I was about 3 and totally horse mad. While at the farm I’d ask him every hour when was it time I could ride the horse. My mom took a photo-I was tiny and of course the horse was huge. I’d hold the mane in my hands and I remember I’d have to scrunch my toes to keep my too large boots from falling off. I loved every second. In winter we were going to the woods for lumber and he had a large sleigh and you stand at the front edge and hold the reins and he let me drive the horses. Such happy memories. I would totally love to own a Clydesdale now. If I could get a horse, that’s what I’d want.

Everything about the Clydesdales is magical. They are one of the calmest breeds on the planet. they rarely spook and they are solid as a rock but very gentle too and they are super curious especially of children. Super smart and surprisingly agile they were draught horse for pulling beer carts back in the day and they also used as war horses as well as your basic farm work. Anheiser Busch heard about the slow decline in the numbers of the Clydesdales and brought a few of them and brought them to his stables to help rebuild the numbers of the Clydesdale, He has one of the largest collections of Clydesdales anywhere in the world now and treats them all like kings. The Clydesdale breed was put on the endangered list about 10-20 years ago but with the pride in the Scottish Heritage breed they are doing their best to breed them to help bring the numbers up to ensure the the Clydesdale horse stays around for a long, long time. Thank the lord for that. The most graceful animal in my book. such a cool breed.

Born in St Louis, Mo. and the first time I saw them was Bud team at a store pulling the wagon. Magnificent. Just a little kid in 1953 but it stuck with me. They are my favorite horse breed. I now live in the desert southwest of USA.
