Four officers killed in North Carolina shooting identified

Four officers that were killed in a Charlotte, N.C. shooting have been identified. The officers were serving a warrant at a residence when a gunman opened fire on them. Those killed included a deputy U.S. Marshal, two correction officers and a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer. The gunman was shot and killed at the home. Authorities said he had a lengthy criminal record. NBC News' Sam Brock reports.

If these laws were on the books 50 years ago to trace every Firearm produced by manufacturers to the owners just maybe today they'll be fewer guns on the streets because they all would be traceable back to the original owner. Those who continued to report their gun stolen shouldn't be allowed to own guns. Having a mandatory gun inventory for citizens so it'll match who owns what and where would help keep us all safe. Having the gun manufacturers able to produce unlimited amounts of firearms and gun shops able to sell them without much paperwork to track these guns seems so asinine. They only have to report someone if they bought a large quantity of guns within a certain period so buying up 2 or 3 every few months could easily have someone collect more than 10 guns a year without ATF and the Government knowing about it. Those who believe that the 2nd Amendment shouldn't be infringed are in support of this criminal doing everything he could to stop the Government (law officers) from taking away his firearms. If you are in support of gun laws and background checks then you'll be supporting the officers doing their jobs to get these guns off the streets.
