I’ve never enjoyed something going over my head so much since How to Turn a Sphere Inside Out. It makes me cry laughing. I feel like I’m on acid. The joy of the universe. Where you least expect it. MORE PLEASE…IN MORE DIMENSIONS.💫 And from the same decade if possible.❤

this is really neat! i’d never really thought about irregular shapes in d > 3, and this is a great example of why it’s important not to neglect them. learning a lot from these old videos, thanks!!

"Forty two", rearranged: "Tea for two." DNA *was* British, after all! (Douglas Noel Adams, Hitchhiker's, pretty sure that's the reference at the end :) ). Ha, neat. There are (before this one) 13 comments. In base 13, the letter tiles "question" in his book gives the correct answer, "What is six times nine?" 54 in base 10; 42 in base 13. :) :) In Joshua 10:13, the sun stood still. Reflecting is fun. :)

@laceyrainbolt54327 ай бұрын
it’s a proof by counterexample, which is sufficient to prove that the statement she made in the beginning of the video (the 2d projection of a 4-polytope can’t have more than O(f) vertices) is not true for every 4-polytope. that’s all she’s saying. this video is literally the proof, idk what else you want

it isn’t nonsense at all, but it’s a topic that is so niche only a few people care about it. the video uses terms that might sound like jargon to someone who doesn’t think about these things as a career, because they’re not terms anyone else would ever need to know. if you’re interested in abstract geometry, it’s actually a really neat little proof.
