I love vertical blinds! So much better than dusty smelly drapes.

@@maryannbradshaw6658 yes I guess we could go either way, but most vertical blinds are made of fabric and they’re very hard to dust unless you have vinyl ones which are more rare. At least with curtains, you can launder them at home.

I still have the sheers from my vertical blinds. I cut the plastic blinds down to an inch and now they serve to tilt the sheers...

Im with you on a lot of these things, however, you asked who ever said shutters and blinds all look good from the outside? I will tell uou who has said that…designers that’s who!!!!!!! I e built four different homes and they've all said that!!! Also, barn doors…i agree that theres more functional options in most areas, but we have one in our en suite above our garage and it is quite a statement and i’ve had more positive comments on that thing that anything else. ?? I don’t know, wouldn't want them in lost places but it is gorgeous where it is that’s for sure…

I also don't like barn doors, but let's touch grass for a moment here - how much does it cost to install a barn door vs a pocket door?

@@katysleta4285 it all depends what stage of the project you are at. If it’s an existing space I would recommend the other two options I suggested. If building or renovating the options would be comparable.

I don't understand the hate with the bedroom sets. It used to be if you didn't have a set it meant you couldn't afford one. So, this i chalk up to the worst/cheapest/easiest way becomes a trend. Like how everything is resin veneers instead of real stone or wood today, or PU "leather" over leather. The cheapest and the easiest becomes popular, but it's not better. Then people lose sight of what was real and good. Remember how ppl were knocking down walls in their tiny kitchens? Then it became a trend and even the large homes were knocking down walls. When you start to see something over and over again it starts to look nice.
