A little info about the song from the band: “This song was written during the writing process of In Some Way Shape Or Form, it was recorded to be on the album but was cut from the track listing last minute. This rendition is actually the fourth time we’ve recorded it, each time was very different, but this one is the first to feel like it’s meant to be heard.”

If you just outright hate this sound because it's different, then don't waste your basic tastes on any music. Just don't listen to music. It's okay to not be a big fan of this kind of sound, but understanding that you follow this artist and this is what came out of their heart this time around is completely different. Seriously, just don't listen to music anymore if your taste refuses to stretch from one preset genre of sound.

Stop. People like what they like. Love FYS, but I honestly found this to be kind of...meh. I like them for a reason, and this song doesn't fit what I personally "like" about their sound. It has nothing to do with only listening to one genre or whatever crap you're on about. It's a decent song, just not for me. Wasn't enough to keep me hooked. BUT THAT'S OKAY. FYS doesn't have to cater to me, it's their shit. You don't have to worship everything a band puts out. It's OK to be critical of your idols, and to realize everyone has different tastes.

Jason Cottingham I am critical of my favorite bands. There are plenty of bands that I have loved that have gone in a direction that was either obviously powered by trying to just catch a wider audience or just blatantly selling out. What FYS has shown in this song, though, is that they can pull off something besides the easycore/pop punk that everyone for some reason likes to hear over and over again. For example, Hundredth, a melodic hardcore band, just put out an album that's completely shoe-gaze. It wasn't in the pull of a record or producer making them do it, but they genuinely felt a new sound and went with it, and it came out great. That's what I like about this song.

Hadras Dante Dude, you're missing the point. Do you KNOW fys? All this song proves is that they wrote something different than what they usually write. YOU may enjoy this song, and believe it shows something profound about FYS, and that's cool. But it's also cool for me to say that I found the song boring and unappealing. Still love FYS. People can have different tastes, choose not to enjoy something, just as you can CHOOSE to believe that FYS wrote this song to prove they have the biggest dicks and are the most talented musicians, or whatever. Me on the other hand, I'm more likely to believe the story goes more like this: "FYS wrote a song." Either like it, or don't. I don't give a shit. Frankly, I'm not sure if anyone else really cares. Just don't rag on people for not enjoying a particular sound. That's a BS move, man, and you know it. Next please!
