Just replaced mine. Was a "long" one already in my ute (Hilux 2008). No need for the spacer, cap, long bolts etc..., out with the old and in with the new. My issue was... stalling intermittently after 1st start. All good now. You're vid helped, thankyou.

I'd like to thank you profusely for solving this issue for me. I replaced the SCV on my 2008 Toyota Avensis 2.0 D4D (here in the UK, but the exact same part). I used the short one which I know you say is rubbish but I didn't feel qualified enough to judge which long SCV I should get so I replaced it like for like. Got the part from eBay for £46 but it was a genuine Denso one. It was an easy job thanks to your guide and now NO MORE RANDOM STALLING! It is wonderful. Less rattle on cold starts and a solid idling RPM. Can't thank you enough, I've been trying to solve this one for 9 months and no mechanic has been able to work it out

I'm trying to do this on an 08 hiace d4d swb 2kd-ftv and by God these hands don't fit nor do my tools The wiring loom prevents access, as does the fuel filter. Calling it a tight fit is an understatement.

Many thanks after successfully installed mine without an issue. Bit tricky to tighten the 5mm Allen on the side you can’t see but got there at the end. Would’ve 100% dropped the bolt without ur molykote method to glue the bolt to the tool.

Turn wheels full lock left, unclip the dust shroud and you can get in easier under the guard.

Hi Anthony, mate what are the symptoms of a bad short body SCV? I know that BDG replaced mine in 2016 when they did my injectors but I will check tomorrow to see if they used another short body version which they may have.

Hey great video Tony. Have a 1VD-FTV in a 79 ute 2011, was previously a mine truck 😥. It Has trouble starting when cold or been sitting a while, but not warm or been running. Can this valve cause starting issues like this? It never cuts out whilst running, I haven't checked the valve for the version yet.

Sir, I have a Toyota hilux 2.5ltr D4D 2002 it has the short suction control valve. please could you tell me what should the voltage be supplying this unit. I currently have 2.6 volts. The engine will only fire up, when I pump the filter primer at speed. Please could you help me. thank you.

Do we need learn or something after replacement? On my 2kd, I changed from short to long, engine not running. Seems different hole pointing between short and long. Normall open and normally closed I mean.

i have uk invincible 2012 i changed the injectors and fuel pump but it cuts off after few seconds or sometimes after 1 min if im lucky, the error code thats coming is injector drive circuit bank 1 error, though current is coming to the injectors ,i dont know what could be the fault as the injector drive drive we tried from other vehicle but behaved the same

Sir may i ask after 30 min idle it will stall after cranking it will start automaticaly or it will crank more 4 to 6 times before it will start?

I checked the injectors, glow plugs and battery (all fine) but i have a cold start problem on a toyota corolla d4d 2.0 litre 2003. Could it be the SCV or fuel pressure sensor ?? Any good ideas that i can try to test the car ?

Way easier doing it through the wheel arch. Didnt have to remove any lines everything is more visible
