Thank you for mentioning driving "correctly." I know a few people who had recurring transmission problems that were almost exclusively due to driving too aggressively (hard downshifting, not coming to a complete stop in reverse to drive, etc.) Even though it's an automatic, you still have to drive with some finesse and feel to let the trans work the way it wants too.

Do I have to change the oil or do I also have to flush the gear system (my car has gone upto 85k miles) I've seen other vids of ppl doing the same thing and they said to change the oil none of then mentioned that I had to flush the system

Is it bad to change the oil when it hasn’t been frequently done?

Can you use any brand of oil so long it the right rating or do I need to buy geniune Toyota oil and how many liters oil do I need if just drain and replace (1KD 4 speed auto) Thanks Paul

Safest to stick with Toyota WS. Penrite have one that is believed to be equivalent that some auto trans specialist recommend and use. Certainly, not some random older type auto trans fluid.

Informative video. To bad Toyota, once known for easy servicing has gone to this terrible set up for it's automatic transmission service. I think this was done purposely to discourage the public from servicing their own automatic transmissions and instead taking it to a Toyota dealership where they will charge a high price for their service.
@Fourby4Diesel4 жыл бұрын
Discourage ppl because they cause the problems. Wrong oil & overfilling. This has solved the problems of ppl.

@@Fourby4Diesel Sorry I disagree. Toyota dealers complained to Toyota they weren't making enough profit which most comes from servicing Toyota vehicles because buyers were doing a lot of the basic services like oil and transmission fluid changes. Toyota has even made it difficult for the average person to change the motor oil and filter a new vehicles.
