You can hoist a 500lb load with rope that holds 500lbs, but when your life depends on it, you use a safety margin. Same thing goes for walking on the ice. A couple inches will hold a person, but step on a defect, and down you go. Everyone stay safe this winter.🙂.

With long knives, you gotta watch for deflection. Sometimes whatever you hit/cut, the object can deflect the knife into an unexpected direction and things can get rather hairy from there.
