This is how you start an ICF foundation for a crawl space for a small house or camp or cabin. We use Fox Blocks for this one but you could use any Insulated Concrete Forms you wanted in the same manor.

Don't you guys have extra chutes to reach across I never see Mike Day with a wheelbarrow he just adds extra chutes to reach all over the pour.
@bondobuilt3863 ай бұрын
Well Mike pours it wet so it flows along ways. We pour our concrete at a low slump so it will not flow like his does.
@aarongrabowski37753 ай бұрын
@@bondobuilt386Mike is not pouring too wet. He uses water reducers so that it seems like its wet. Mike adds more chutes because he is pouring basements. Basements are in the ground deeper than frost walls so he has the height to add chutes. Concrete flows down chutes because the chutes are dropping.
@highlorddarkstar3 ай бұрын
@@aarongrabowski3775he didn’t say Mike was pouring “too” wet. He said Mike used a different style of pouring. Both styles work for basements, but Bondo has a method that works for his size of job and crew.

If the glue is not as good then your FOX is not gonna be glued and that's bad.. When it's bad that's not good so you wanna be good and make use the glued block is done not bad but good. Is this technically called a rat slab since it's a poured crawl space? Any downsides or extra long-term mitigations needed?
@highlorddarkstar3 ай бұрын
I think “rat-slab” refers to a thinner layer (1 or 2 inches) poured in to prevent burrows but isn’t meant to be structural. So it is defined by type of floor, not location of floor. What they’re installing is a full on floor slab.
