Fished/Loved Reelfoot often from 1955-1985. Still throw a Keist [Indiana, Ferris-Wheel, Willoughby...] reel on a 5' pole. Designed for vintage Reelfoot in 50's. Short casts in heavy cover. No gears, bearings, drags, level winds, anti-reverse... Heavy line [17-20 mono] on a large diameter spool causes less curling. Lays flat on surface for top water jerk baits. Used to be $40.00!!! Mine's 40 years experienced.

As someone who grew up with reelfoot literally in my back yard. You never seen them kinda boats out there lol. If you know you know.

I’m going to reelfoot in less than 2 weeks and I don’t know where to go or where to throw, I have been to reelfoot once previously and I wasn’t able to catch one at all, so any tips or advice at all would be greatly appreciated

Nice catch. But put the fish back then talk.. 2 min plus is a bit long from a conservation standpoint.
