that operators reflexes are awfully quick if he was able to hit the emergency stop switch for the PTO cause those compactor blades run through the cycle each time the bin arm lifts over the hopper and most compactors are quick , that kid is extremely lucky and the parents or guardian need to teach him that trash cans aren't a place to play.

With those side load trucks, we watch the claw grab & lift the can. Then as soon as the can is just about ready to dump, we watch the screen in the truck to make sure we see what is being dumped into the trucks. I Haven’t come across an incident like this and hope I never do 🙏🏽

Its on top of the truck, the main purpose is to see if the can is empty before you set it back down,but you can see everything that falls out of the can.
