Did the sperm whale die naturally or did marine wildlife officials help it to cross over? Please let us know, once autopsy is done, why it died and/or beached itself. Are these whales suffering, as a whole, from lack of food? And yeah, why no sound?

I believe that today they were going to euthanize it, They had to stop last night, But it turned out it had already passed before they had a chance to euthanize it.

Sorry for this whale passing and washing up on shore. They are going to eventually have to haul it way offshore. Due to sharks and other predators finding the carcass. They do the same in Africa. Hopefully the biologists can determine what killed this whale.

I wonder how many sea creatures are dying from all of the explosions going off under water? Could this be why some are seen in areas that they don't usually frequent?
@mlr45247 ай бұрын
More likely it ingested plastics, but yes, blowing up things underwater is very bad for marine life that lives there. You'd think we'd have a global moratorium on it.

Cheap drone is why, they should have used a DJI drone or government drone. I am a federally licensed commercial drone pilot and can tell you that is the reason for no sound. I have no clue whom this 107 pilot is but they overall need more practice. It is possible someone is flying illegally for recreational purposes but being on the news flying recreationally is illegal to actually do, who knows ?

Yes, but in the bigger picture we have caused all of nature to suffer and we will suffer as well because of what we do and fail to do.

the most important news of the day. symbol of disrespect for nature, prioritizing human selfishness.
@virginiamoss70457 ай бұрын
Well, humans can be selfish just like most creatures, but we have more ability to control that with our intelligence, at least those who possess more of it. How did humans disrespect this whale? Whales, like all of us, grow old and die. Now, we have depleted and polluted the oceans; there is not enough food for whales and others to eat because we humans have taken it all or killed it with nets, lines, toxic chemicals, global warming, etc. So we are responsible for disrespecting nature in the larger picture.

Poor thing, imagine what scared a whale to beach itself
@virginiamoss70457 ай бұрын
Who's to say it was "scared"? There could be any number of explanations, some of which could be determined from the necropsy.
@kimberleelee91417 ай бұрын
Isn't there something about their lungs being crushed by the weight of their body that winds up killing them? Obviously, there is a reason that they wind up beached. And their lungs become damaged fairly rapidly. Imagine going from weightlessness to full heavy.

Of the 178 Humpback deaths since 2016, (Jersey Coast),scientists were able to examine about 1/2 of them and determined 40% of those whales showed signs of dying naturally or having been hit by a ship,or had gotten entangled in fishing gear. Furthermore, in December 2023, a Federal Scientific Agency stated the Offshore Wind Project (construction, operations and dismantling) could likely have adverse effects on whales and other marine mammals, BUT...will NOT seriously harm or kill them. Animals die from old age, Just like us. Animals die from illnesses, Just like us. In comparison, across the globe 🌎 150 THOUSAND people die EVERY DAY. Approximately 100 thousand is simply due to old age.
