@@RobertaFierro-mc1ub there wasn't much time to Evac hospital flooded in like a hr patient were pulled on roof by staff and air lifted off by the time Evac was ordered the roads and bridges were already gone along with vehicles to drive out 10 ft water in first hr in many places were it had never flooded in atleast 47 yrs people at work in factories restaurants are missing the factories and restaurants are gone

The big issue with many of these storms or fires are the people who believe they can ride it out. They believe they are saving their property or it won't be that bad, but it's not worth their life. Then these same people get upset when crews can't get to them.

@@barbaravyse660 when everything washed away in 4 hrs no prep mattered couldn't evacuate roads gone cars gone this was fast it didn't come up it flowed down 10 ft deep off the mountains in places dams failed or overflowed 10 ft of water was 15 in first hr 20 plus after and everything ever were was gone in just a few hrs if you were breathing you were good as for supply's you had prepped there was no time to grab anything

I've lived in northeast Tennessee and Western N.C for 52 years and have never seen anything close to the devastation by the floods. Large 2 lane and 4 lane roads ,and bridges just completely gone all around the area . People are stuck inbetween the devastation with no power,phone,water and no way to drive out not to mention all the loss of life and missing. Just horrific, but it will take time ,but we will rebuild. 🙏 for all the missing are found .❤

If all these Jeep clubs do this Traverse trail riding, why can’t they use these forest service roads to access these areas? These off-road trails run all through the mountains on the east coast from state to state and across this country, so why can’t these roads be used to get help to these people? If we can clear roads of trees and other debris to ride these trails then we can do the same to get help to certain areas, just an idea.

I'm sure they are, actually. I don't drive a Jeep, but a heavily modded Subaru, and in my neck of the woods, up north, it's snow/blizzard emergencies. I, and many others, always respond. My winch, recovery gear, chain saw and lots of other gear hit the roads when the SHTF here.

So many more people outside of Ashville are devastated and we're not talking about their art businesses either. Fortunately my family members west of Asheville are ok, but like so many others are on their own.

Not all businesses are corporations. There are plenty of small business owners that are barely making a living. And if their business fails many times their insurance will not even cover a fraction of the cost it would take to rebuild when they are a small business owner. Businesses also employ people, and without jobs most people can’t pay their bills even for one month.
