@@Houstonwehaveaprob1 Hi, the response during the earthquake was great and there are many animal lovers there, but to allow animals to roam free is barbaric. They are not all taken care of. How could they be? They are hungry, thirsty, not spayed and neutered, get hurt, sick, hit, get cold, hot, etc. Last year, the govt. put out an order to kl a large number of dogs. Many fought this. Many people take care of animals, bring them home, build shelters, have or buy land and take care of them. They also work to pressure the govt into getting these babies off the streets and out of the forests to bring them into more nice shelters, spay and neuter and care for them. Dogs and cats can not live outside. This should become more public to pressure them and have them worry that tourists will refrain from visiting until they do. Same in Greece and many other places.

Animals have asked humans to care for their relatives quite a bit over the years. There was a story about 10 years ago about a duck who asked a cop for help while he was sitting in his car at the park having lunch. The cop thought the duck was begging for food, so he threw down a piece of bread from his sandwich. The duck looked at the bread crumb and then looked back at him and she wouldn't move. The cop figured out that she was asking for something else, so he got out of his car and followed her as she led him to a fence where one of her ducklings was stuck. He helped free the duckling. They know that we can do things that they can't.
