I graduated with a completion certificate in Desktop Publishing in 2001. From there I didn't continue to look for work in that field although I did some freelance graphics design. But my experience there ultimately helped me get into college and now I'm currently an X-Ray Technologist making over $25.00 an hour.

I went to Cincinnati Job Corps and I graduated from there on March 27th, 2015, with a Certificate of Completion of Office Administration. I really miss Cincinnati Job Corps!

They only looked at North Texas Job Corps. I went to Homestead Job Corps Center, I graduated from the Medical Assistant program and my High School diploma in 2012. I am now in college I want to be a nurse I would not be in college nor would I have the opportunities I do now without Job Corps. Job Corps is the best thing that has ever happened to me. :)

This also happened at Carl D Perkins Job Corp. I know alot of students that are not doing the trades they studied.

Dang, the Job Corps in North Texas must have been operated by a bad company at the time of this report. I attend a different Job Corps, but the company that runs the Job Corps that I attend does an excellent job, for the most part. They still lie about some small things, though. If you want to do a news report on a good Job Corps example, have one of your news stations do a report on the Treasure Island Job Corps near San Francisco. Also, feel free to check out my vlog, which is an inside look at the Job Corps I attend.

You didn't look hard enough for success stories! I graduated in only 5 months. Left with a job making $10 a hour. And in a 4 year university. Wouldn't have been able to do it without the amazing staff at Job Corps.

there are good stories and bad, i went to north texas job corps in 1998 at 17yrs old and paul biffle was my trade instructor he was good i was there when the new coed dorms were built. i didnt stay very long after and i completed my trade but never found a job doing electrical and left before i could finish ged. i went to job corps again when i was 20 in roswell, nm got away with murder and met my hubby which we were told that relationships never last from there and thats a lie, we have been together 15yrs and have a son. while my hubby was in there he had just got his high school diploma so he went in ready, picked electrical for his trade as well and now makes a good amount every year and we have had a wonderful trips and made it. He would actually look for work and not make job corps do everything for him like they do while your in there i went 2 tomes and didnt get anything out of it but had tons of jobs none of them fast food and that was without having ged and once i got it after i worked hard to get it i can now go to college but when our son is grown because i worked hard to get what i have and so did my hubby i will always thank job corps for the fun i had in both and all the people we met while there :-)

Yeah I was in that same Job corps, found one job, went homeless for over a year, never did anything for me. I never found anything that went with my certification, only fast food jobs.

job corp was lame they change the rules so its like you go to job corp and you start from the bottom like if you finish school they start still start you at the bottom so if you fail they test you retake highschool or ged again if you already got it and its a hard test for some

People that graduate college also have trouble finding jobs it's not always job corps fault I'm sure if that girl really tried she could get a decent job I mean for example when I was just 16 I had a job making $10 an hour so I'm gonna put some of the blame on the people.

+Joseph Henderson hey joseph, i know this comment is a year old, but i just had a few questions for you. someone i know just started the job corps program this week at the same McKinney center and now I'm worried and I honestly just wanna tell him to leave and to go to a trade school and pay for it out of pocket/financial aid instead of spending 2+ years in a program that might not help him in the end. i was just wondering how soon afterwards you found employment and what you got certified in? i also heard that there are 4-5 classes you take after you learn your trade that are required and when he tried asking about this during orientation the instructor acted like she didnt even hear him.
