I have never lived in NYC but thanks to social media I can watch Crime in the City and video of NYC subway and get an idea of how unpredictable some people are. Since they passed the law about carrying a gun the innocent don't stand a chance when confronted by a person or people with evil intentions. There are other videos of crime and confrontations on the streets and in buildings there. The jails and penitentiaries in America are not serious about rehabilitation.

Since the mental facilities are no longer taken into account the dangerous individuals.. then it’s on the judicial revolving doors.. So the taxpayers are picking up the tab in so many ways.. Mentally, physically and with their lives.. That mother living in a upscale neighborhood in Manhattan.. that turn in her son.. should wise up and get a restraining order… Just to show you it could happen in any neighborhood..

Back in the 80s if you get locked up for fighting or drinking the cops will ask you if you want to go to the hospital then you go to the Phych Ward in Bellevue hospital 16th floor.
