1:26:43 "If I had not talked to that woman, I would never ever be sitting right here" He was in jail for beating Erika and hitting her with his car... The same car. His mother bailed him out of jail, but was still mad that his ex, Erika, whom he has consistently abused, didn't bail him out. He still wanted to threaten, intimidate, and beat her. When he still didn't get his way of controlling her, his narcissistic rage was up to 11. This was not a person experiencing mania or psychosis. He was not out of touch with reality. He had the ability to make decisions to not do this. He didn't care. He just wanted to take the rage out on as many people as possible because he couldn't take it out on Erika anymore.

Fun fact : at 1:34:08 we can heard Brooks say "it's like you're badgering me" And in one of the last witness for the "alleged defendant" there was an objection of "badgering the witness" by the prosecution. At this moment Brooks repeat at the judge "what do you mean ?" faking to not understand the word "badgering", and when the judge finally say "it's a synomym of intimidation" Brooks uses this to make a scene and call into question the judge's bias. Brooks knew it was "credible" for him to not know what badgering mean so he use it to cause chaos and disruption. I find this moment very revealing as to Brooks caracter. With him there is always an anterior motive, an angle he is working on, a manipulation tactic at play. He is the text book definition AND the poster child of antisocial personality disoder. And for that, i am glad he is where he belong. Behind bars.

It's so inhumane to lock someone up until they die The USA is the only country that calls itself democratic and civilized, which has such long, inhuman prison sentences. Then the crime rate shows that this inhuman penal system is unsuccessful. Crime in the USA belongs to the highest, compared to other democratic countries, in which The maximum penalty is 20 years. No matter what they did. It shouldn't be penalty based, but on rehabilitation . The countries that rely on rehabilitation have amazingly low crime rates. Espacelly compared to the US.

So, I've listened to this police interrogation numerous times and it is CLEAR that the police have the wrong man. He told them that he did not drive his mother's car. Why do they keep pushing it? It's like DB said in his closing... "It's like a song they play on the radio and you hate that song, but then you start singing it and you ask yourself why?" He told them his mother didn't even have a car and didn't drive. But they don't give up. Guess they don't have anything better to do. This case should be appealed.

He's intentionally being vague about how and why he was in Waukesha. He outright lies about not having access to a vehicle and claims his mother doesn't have a vehicle for him to drive which we now know he lied as his mother owned the red ford escalade that he drove into the paraders on that fateful day on November 21, 2021 killing 6 and injuring many more. One of the people he killed was an 8 yr old boy. He fled the scene and then ditched the car and his phone so he couldn't be tracked. He approached people on the street to borrow their phone to call an uber. He called his momma to get him an uber lyft and without question, she did as she was told. The uber driver couldn't find him at the location he was but left as the cops were looking for a suspect that matched his description so he knew he had to hide somewhere until he could get an uber lyft so he chose to knock on the door of a homeowner hoping he could get inside and hide from the cops looking for a suspect that matched his description. He called his momma to call and pay for the Uber for him as the homeowner heard him say 'momma call me an uber and gave her the homeowner's address. The homeowner gave him a sandwich which he still had in his pocket in a plastic sandwich bag. HIs mother was supporting him and her 2 grandkids as their mother died in 2013 from an illness. DB was a twin and his twin sister died in 2013 leaving 2 kids for his mother to support who was also supporting him but was court ordered to not return home as he was arrested for a domestic with his nephew whom he shot at. His nephew asked the Judge for a protection order so DB no longer had a place to stay and why he went to find his former gf to move in with her and she refused to take him back as he beat her in the past. Thus DB was homeless, desperate and ANGRY at the world.

I’m watching Day 17 of this Trial, Darrell Brooks Closing arguments. (The comments are turned off but I needed to vent) I am absolutely blown away. It is unbelievable the level of disregard this fool has for the victims of his attack that day. I can’t believe he got to this age without killing someone else tbf. Imagine the amount of Narcissism you’d have to have to stand for an hour in front of your victims and the world and cry for yourself !? The best thing do with people like this is too let them talk, they bury themselves and there’s no guilt for anyone that enjoys their suffering. Him and his “mother” would be absolutely okay with him walking out that court room without any punishment. That’s on his mother!! His “mother” talked a lot about mental illness and the world failing him. Not doing more to fix him. Well Dawn Woods, you’ve been with this fool of a man since day one, what did you do to “fix him” ? The answer is nothing because he had no mental health issues, he was a brat that you indulged and helped make him the monster he is today and always will be.

From what I gathered his mother spoiled him immensely, hence his actions. I loved that he kept bringing up jury nullification, and while they tried to stop it the prosecutors where like "screw it, no ones going to nullify the law for that sorry sack of 10yo dogs hit and bull semen". And they didn't, because nullification is for racist and sexist laws, not allow someone to get away with murder
